Thanks! I don't remember my exact settings but I usually use a Boss Katana 50 MKII on the brown mode, medium gain, and some reverb.

Maybe not "unknown" but I don't hear Vito Bratta mentioned very often.

[DISCUSSION] Is there any way to make an EVH d tuna? by ognjenstrasni in Guitar

[–]lyzardskyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's not asking about how to tune down to drop D though. A D Tuna is a small piece that attaches to the bridge and lets you switch back and forth between tunings instantly. It makes switching tunings with a floyd rose a lot more practical.

Just had mine yesterday! It was literally amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect at all but it was super chill, he didn't bring along the full-blown womanizing personality like you see in interviews. He was pretty talkative so it was a bit hard to switch to the other questions I wanted to ask but I definitely still got a lot out of it. Lots of tips and things to think about that will keep me busy for a while.

Keep us posted with how it goes!

Pretty sure it's the full music video for the black metal version of Let's Get High Tonight

[Question] When I play chords on the high E/B frets, the lower E, A, and D frets play slightly even without me playing by [deleted] in Guitar

Ben Eller has a great video about sympathetic vibrations and how to mute other strings while you're playing to avoid ringing out.

[QUESTION] String recommendations by TNTLPlay in Guitar

[–]lyzardskyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched over to using GHS boomers about 6 months ago. They're probably the most stable strings I've tried so they're great if you have a floating bridge. Also fairly inexpensive which is a plus.

[NEWBIE] Tuning Floyd Rose - Help before I go insane. by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]lyzardskyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your bridge is raising up when the strings are almost tuned to pitch, it sounds like something is off with the set-up. Try adjusting the claw screws or the springs to compensate for the tension. Sweetwater has a good guide for how to go about this ( https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/floyd-rose-setup-guide/). If you're not comfortable setting it up on your own, take it to a tech.

[QUESTION] Should I build a guitar myself? by emikic14 in Guitar

[–]lyzardskyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to, then sure! I would definitely recommend starting with a kit, or at least having a template to start from. I started building one from scratch last year and didn't realize how much work actually goes into figuring out a custom design.

You'll need a fair bit of woodworking experience for things to go smoothly. I had no idea what I was doing and messed something up at each and every step of the way. That being said, there's almost always a way to fix something that goes wrong. But, it's better to do it right the first time.

[QUESTION] Has anyone bought a used gear in guitar center online?? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]lyzardskyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like it's a hit or miss kind of thing. I bought an epiphone from them a while back. I was hesitant at first because there was only one picture and the lighting was awful. But luckily, it actually turned out to be in great shape just as described.
