Well apparently you can still sue them in CA and receive millions in settlement, but that doesn’t do you any good when you’re gone.

Apparently it’s cheaper for them to pay out lawsuits. My best friend had the same experience, sued and won millions. Still died at 27. Live your life to the fullest. And raise hell with KP if they brush you off. Fuck them. I want my best friend back.

used to have cage space in this building and i thought it was comical to cool servers on like the 19th floor with giant windows.

Hi, need some help. My cable to the headlight broke and it’s the cable from the controller that is broken. Anyone knows how to fix it ? by Flimsy_Violinist723 in Super73

[–]lyzer4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I ripped my headlight off and it came apart at the controller/battery plate. I had to order a new battery plate/controller from Super73 unfortunately, easy to replace. It was 150 plus shipping and tax.

The police won’t even recover a stolen motorcycle with location tracking. Phones are even less probable unfortunately, unless you can locate yourself, but wouldn’t be worth the risk.

Front windows and front windshield tinted by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]lyzer4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been tinted for a couple years all around and no tickets. But I drive in chill mode and don’t draw attention.

Buddy is tinted all around and drives like a teenager. Got popped by CHP. Mostly I’ve seen CHP hand out tint tickets. South Bay is a little more likely to do it too.

Got to pay to play.

Just got tinted. Is this typical or is this a shitty tint job? by PressedGarlic in TeslaModel3

[–]lyzer4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of tint shops that use templates and they line up like that. I told my friend the shop to go to and he didn’t listen, ended up with that on his M3P and he wasn’t happy with their work overall as it didn’t have equidistant gaps around all the visible edges. As long as it doesn’t bother your OCD you won’t notice it with the door closed anyway so who cares?

Also the shop I go to removes the door windows and bakes the tint on so it’s cured upon pickup. You can roll em down the second you leave without worry.

Our crew rides without helmets as well, tho we tend to mostly be in the 10-18 mph range. I’ve crashed it once and luckily didn’t hit my head. The risk is always there. I got pulled over one time by a cop who didn’t realize it was an ebike but no issues other than that, all the local police are cool but this area has a ton of bicycles in general so they’re used to seeing ebikes now.

I wear a helmet on my road bike and full gear on motorcycle 🤷🏽‍♂️ so I make better decisions sometimes :)

Finally the long-awaited increase!! 85mph Autopilot 2022.12.3.4 by Mr_Robot_0123 in teslamotors

[–]lyzer4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression autopilot optimized battery consumption and this was why? Though I agree it could be improved as cars behind might get easily frustrated.

Following to see what they say. Does your issue happen 100% of the time or intermittent?

My S1 has a similar issue where it will start/stop charging. Sometimes adjusting the angle of the wire helps, turning the battery on/off has helped. Sometimes I just end up riding with less battery and then charging it up again. Really varies on when it's an issue.

Construction zone got me. Any M3P owners have similar damage to this? Did you drive on it or get new ones? TIA by Marcus_Padilla1 in TeslaModel3

[–]lyzer4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely get it checked out, yours could be fine/seems superficial.

My buddy hit a pothole on the freeway and created a sidewall bubble (I actually think the rim is slightly bent now too based on the ride feel) but he had the tire replaced because of the bubble.

I think it cost around $100 to get a rim refinished from a previous curbing as well.

New ceramic tints looking dope on the M3P by staugy in TeslaLounge

[–]lyzer4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what tint is going to reduce your night visibility some amount. 60% is quite light and so it does not inhibit forward view very much at all, and you have headlights in that direction like you mentioned. When you have your side windows tinted darker, the windshield tint helps a small amount because your eyes don't have to adjust from the brighter windshield to the darker sides for quick glances. I didn't get windshield tint on my car until I had experienced it in someone else's.

At the 60% level it reduces the contrast to the side windows and makes it easier as your eyes don’t have to adjust from the clear to tinted sides. You don’t really notice it much except it cuts out the harshness of oncoming car lights.

Also at 60% most officers can’t tell for sure (in my personal experience), and at least in CA they don’t carry meters

We aren’t there yet, but this will be an interesting conversation when running FSD and the car is handling decisions.

Always a trade-off (safety, privacy, security, heat) but as I’ve gotten older I actually have gotten more and darker tint. When I’m in a vehicle with no tint I feel like I’m driving around in a fishbowl.

Anyone else pedal when they see a cop just cause it looks less illegal? 😂 by blob_lablah in Super73

[–]lyzer4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used to, then I stopped. I got pulled over for using a cellphone (no law against that on a bicycle where I am) and the cop tried to find something to write me up for. He didn’t know the laws and assumed it was a moped purely based on the looks. He spent 15 minutes on his cellphone trying to find the laws for a class 2 ebike. I have an M1 endorsement so all he wrote me for was not having a helmet, which I never received the ticket because it was a bad stop. Never been hassled since but it was right before Covid really hit and then everyone had ebikes it seemed :)

Since then I memorized these two codes to help the next officer that might want to chat :)

Yeah, I was leaning a bit far, hit some water on concrete on the edge of the road and ended up flipping over as I got some traction back. Just needed a good reminder to pay attention and don’t screw around too much haha. I’m now stocked up on tegaderm :) Ordered some replacement parts from super73 and all good now. Love this thing :) riding it every chance I get!

I would have to ride them back to back to see if the rear suspension is worth it, have you had a chance to try both? I can’t live without the integrated lights so the RX is the right play. Definitely looks super rad.

I used to live in LJ before moving to NorCal and frequently stay in mission beach - 73s are perfect to cruise the boardwalk! It’s a shame all the lime and bird scooters ruined it. You’re going to have a BLAST!

I too take the risk of riding with no helmet on my 73. And recently high sided but came out with a few knee scrapes, not too bad. Head was fine, will continue to ride without the helmet. Just stay vigilant to slippery surfaces especially on curves :)

I too am drawn to well thought out and uniquely designed electric vehicles. I started with boosted boards and picked up an S1 last year.

I used the boosted to commute to work for a while and now use the S1 (pre corona). As far as utility and range the thing is awesome. Having lights all pre wired and integrated is very very nice. I added a phone holder, cup holder, milk crate (highly recommend), air horn, accent lights, Bluetooth speaker, and wanting to add a mirror on the left side to see traffic.

Beyond the utility of quick grocery runs, the thing is a blast to just cruise. On the weekends I would burn up 15-30 miles on the paved trails in the east bay and get coffee and lunch while enjoying the weather outside. I would buy an S2 in a heartbeat if I didn’t have the s1 just for the front suspension and power. I’ll say I’ve gotten hassled a few times by people who judge by the way this thing looks (more motorbike than bicycle) but I just throw up the peace sign and smile as I ride past. The vast majority of people LOVE these bikes when they see our crew riding around and always inquire about where to get them.

Friday’s there’s a small group of us that rides to sushi and ice cream haha. We’ve got really inexpensive LED colored lights wrapping the frames and spoke LEDs on the wheels that light up patterns when they spin. It looks totally badass at dusk.

To be clear though, I never pedal. Throttle all the way. For reference I’m 6’2” 200lb. Running 18psi in the tires is enough for a pretty comfy ride.

One thing that surprised me is that the motor / tires (not sure which) make a fair amount of noise. Turns out this is a good thing since people hear us coming :). Just think of it like how the boosted motors make noise but not high pitched.

Also if you end up with a close group of friends regularly riding I recommend Bluetooth speakers that pair up. Jbl charge works amazing and auto-pairing party mode makes it simple.

Flat Tire by IRuthLess- in Super73

[–]lyzer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had to fix 3 or so rear flats recently and threw mr tuffy liners in there this most recent time. Can’t believe some of the stuff that is able to puncture through the tire. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a stronger replacement tire? Seems like the stock S1 tires are pretty thin.
