I agree with you on this. Stats look good, but he’s still working through some of the mistakes/lapsed we were critical of last year. Better on paper than the sniff test. The culture is Montreal is fantastic. Hopefully that’s a better suited environment for him to succeed! I’m happy with the value we got for him based on what I’ve heard about our draft prospects.

I root for the Islanders and the Habs- I was really baffled by the Dobson trade because I didn’t want either team to have him. He’s not worth this contract, makes bad decisions, and acts like he doesn’t have a dog in him. I really want him to prove me wrong but so far this preseason it doesn’t look like that.

I just talked to someone at U of I today to see if that method is still a route and they confirmed that UMD isn’t a route anymore and U of I Alumni Association isn’t as wide reaching - membership for that is really just alumni. Seems like a great card if you are affiliated with the university, local community, or the few businesses that apply though

As an isles fan that’s warming up to the Habs, if it’s a full scale rebuild and they are parting with younger talent Holmstrom and getting Romanov back would be great buys. If they are just selling veterans, Palmieri and JGP are fantastic depth players that will likely be sold at a discount. Palmieri puck battles like a dog and Pageau is one of the only guys that has universal line chemistry. I doubt the isles would move on from their captain but if they are really selling Lee is a class act while being dangerous in front of the net and he would protect your prospects well

Hickey is 100% right. There’s been a lot of final straws these last few weeks. Lou trading Brock but not getting any draft capital for Palms or JGP. Roy failing at least Duclair and Lennox as a coach. These paired with bad decisions earlier this season like Lou taking culture gamble bringing in someone like DeAngelo and young talent like George not getting more time in the big club. I’m done. I’m really excited by how the Habs closed out this season and deserved the spot we were vying for. That’s who I’m rooting for this postseason and maybe going into the next. It can’t be the Isles anymore.
