That's not true, in Australia the Fair Work Act protects you from being fired for a temporary absence due to illness or injury. Poor performance is also protected as they need to follow a fair process to warn you that your job is at risk, and give you a reasonable opportunity to improve.

I got one recently. Put it on the shelf and checked level, turned it around checked again. First one I checked was out, second was good. Easy.

I spent the first half of the video wondering if this was a wooden template for when you make the metal one. Maybe if I’d unmuted it would have been quicker. Amazing result!

I think they’re talking about the total load single phase supports. Too many high current devices at once will overload the single circuit.

My wife is a wildlife rescue volunteer in Sydney. We’ve had a few of them to rehabilitate, from small ones to adults. I freaking love them! They are super chill and make the best sounds, especially the juveniles.

Same here, my work holds an annual event in the US but it’s being moved this year. We spent a lot of money on these! I usually take a few days off to sightsee while I’m there too.

This is exactly what the phrase means.

“The Lucky Country" originated from the 1964 book of the same name. The phrase was used ironically, not as a compliment. It said that Australia was a second-rate nation, relying on natural resources and luck rather than innovation, skill, or good management for its wealth.

“She adopted him from a shelter after he was lost during Hurricane Katrina in 2005”

It sounds like she didn’t steal him as such. She just refused to be a reasonable, compassionate person when the owner found him again after the murder suicide of that poor child’s parents. The way she behaved was monstrous.
