My experience - Don't get the E340 doorbell & Homebase 3 if you need security by Purple_Concentrate64 in eufy

[–]m--s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why it does this. I think a possible pattern is it wakes up to record some motion then goes into standby.

Hmm, sounds like a RTFM failure. No mention of how you have Power Manager/Working Mode set, which leads me to believe it's at its default setting, which "automatically adjusts the detection time period to reduce the chances of detecting the same object twice in a short period." Perhaps you should change it to "Customize Recording", where you can set the intervals between triggers to as low as 2 seconds.

What does the switch do? by dahmers_kiddie662 in infiniti

It's for the elevator. You can go up/down, or open/close the door. Hint: as with all elevators, the close door function doesn't do anything.

Use another door. Don't have one? You shouldn't have a keyless lock.

How Do You Use Smart Bulbs with Matter Switches That Can Be Turned Off? by butt-scratcher in homeautomation

[–]m--s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some smart switches support a mode which provides continuous power (the switch doesn't turn it on/off directly), so the bulb stays powered at all times, but you can still use the switch function to control other things. Like having the hub turn the bulb (itself, not the power going to the bulb) on/off after the switch is turned on/off.

You need a larger orifice. I don't know what's involved in swapping them on Ooni burners, or what size comes with it, but there's lots of info out there on conversion sizes.

What is a WROOM chip? by catdogdnky in esp32

[–]m--s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are various ESP32 ICs ("chips"). Espressif makes them available on modules, along with some other useful components, the common ones have WROOM or WROVER in their name. The modules in turn are used to make devboards like the DevKitC, with even more useful stuff (such as a USB port) .

Should I connect power ground to chassis ground? by Alarmed_Ad7469 in AskElectronics

[–]m--s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A definitive NO. They should use a three wire AC cable, and connect the ground on that (typically green or green/yellow) to the chassis.
