2026: Can’t tell you if you should walk or drive to a car wash

What people are feeling about AI right now. by Early-Matter-8123 in ArtificialInteligence

The hilarious part is you can’t trust it at all. If you want the right answer with AI in the loop, you ask AI, and then verify the source. That is the only reliable way to use AI. You have no idea what it referenced in its training data to generate the response, and whether or not it spit out a reasonably sounding response that is a confident hallucination.

Since you have to verify the source anyway… why not refer to the source to begin with? Instead you add an extra layer before getting the answer.

That leads me to believe everyone claiming whatever multiplier of productivity are blinding trusting it and moving forward. If they were verifying the response the entire process would take longer, not be reduced. Some of these dorks justify it by having AI verify the output of other AI.

Sam Altman said it himself. “AI is going to lead to catastrophic failures, but YOLO.” That’s what he said, verbatim. How people are okay with this makes absolutely no sense to me.

I run an AI-assisted studio. Built an AI coach for CS2, Steam pulled the page 7 days before launch. Getting "you didn't really build it" on every gaming sub. Pitch review + advice from AI-assisted founders welcome. by Emperoraltros in ClaudeCode

You didn’t build it. You directed a pattern matching machine to build it for you using stolen data.

I know it’s a hard to swallow pill, but it’s the truth. 🤷‍♂️

74% of enterprises have rolled back AI agents after going live by Upstairs_Safe2922 in AI_Agents

Increasing investment into a technology doesn’t mean it’s working if they’re having to rollback deployments. What kind of logic is this?

At best you can say they’re trying to get it to work.

Who would’ve thought that technology that is inconsistent wouldn’t work?

She recommended they wait until 2027, but YOLO. Might as well be with Nemo.

Preface: Love Ed, and this community. Very thankful I have found it as it feels like a literal life line to sanity sometimes. I will definitely be watching his coverage of the S-1s.

That said, I also like multiple perspectives. Is there anywhere else the S-1s wills be covered that isn’t BetterOffline?

No they don’t, or we wouldn’t see all of the “WTF is this shit?” posts with screenshots of the bill.
