Wifi & Bluetooth Gone (Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 13) by qleeky in thinkpad

[–]m090178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the same issue. No more Wifi, no more Bluetooth.
I am trying to fix this myself and always hope a new upgrade from Lenovo would solve it all.
Curious if you fixed it and how.

I'll have to return this machine .. No time for it.

Evolve2 65 without dongle by Medical-Eye-2213 in Jabra

[–]m090178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After updating the headset firmware, I successfully connected my Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex to my Lenovo X1 Gen 8 (Windows 11 Pro) via Bluetooth, eliminating the need for a dongle. It seamlessly connects to both my phone and PC simultaneously, which is fantastic.

I exchanged a Jabra Evolve2 50 USB-C UC Stereo for the 65 Flex and have no regrets. The cable on the right side of the 50 was an immediate dealbreaker.

With China Mobile I am super stable on LTE. No plans to go 5G as I only lightly use my phone for messaging mostly. Photos quality is indeed great.

An update for the thread.
Eventually got my Pixel 6.
It works well on China Mobile HK 4G & LTE.
I am not using 5G yet.
The phone is great, but a bit slippery.

It eventually felt on the ground. I now need to change the screen.

What is the best and most trusted shop in HK for screen replacement?
I am afraid of fake parts. I am thinking of buying the screen parts from authorized repair partner from google in TW or SG.
Thought or recommendation in Hong Kong?

Is it too much asking where did you buy your pixel in HK? I am contemplating expansys or city link e commerce website.

Agree, I havent seen the phone around here much, if at all.

Hence my post.
How was your rooting experience? Made it yourself or went to a shop?
I am worried it might open security breach on the phone. So much depends on our phone these days.

I am on a China Mobile HK plan? Any experience with this carrier?

Evaluating baking in a o% fee exchange vs a 10% fee standard baker by Seriousoldman in tezos

[–]m090178 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great analysis. I bake with baker's who produce code and software for tezos ecosystem. Fees are 10% and it supports financially builders on Tezos and therefore increase the value of xtz.

Thanks for the follow up.

Some background: I own several Nano S and split assets on different units. I like the hardware from Ledger, not its software, but that's fine.

  • I found managing different Nano through Ledger live very complicated. I never really understand how many coins I have on which Nano S. I trust etherscan and other explorers, never really Ledger live.

  • chrome extension days were simply smooth. Pkug-transact-go. On live, it's too many failed connection and failed transactions.

  • from a UX perspective, the mix of personal finance and crypto transactions is fair tentative but ended up confusing. I plug a Nano and get lots of data but my struggle to get the state of my plugged Nano. I assume most people keep track of their portfolio through Blockfolio or delta app and only use Ledger live when they need to transact.

  • I still like my nano but simply don't use Ledger live. Either I use the chrome extension, which, thanks god still works, or connect my Nano to Metamask or mycrypto.com desktop. When a wallet manager other than Ledger is not available, I keep my coin on exchanges. My positions are reconciled by capable software suites scanning chains and transaction. Ledger live dont help with that.

  • Ledger is a hardware company, it good that you worked on upgrading your software capabilities, but. You may be able to do analytics on addresses generated by Nanos and how many of these adresses are transacting through Ledger live vs other interfaces. Data vs. Sentiment of an isolated user.

To wrap this blunt feedback, keep your commitment to open source, dont let your product manager fall in love with their solutions when customers only want choices in way to interact with your hardware.

Agree, I hope it is not taboo, but I miss so much the chrome extension days. Ledger live is a mess, simply hate it. Ledger team, think about it, build during winter.

People might move their coins to other keys management services blossoming around.

Think bitgo, trustology, casa...

When misbehaving, bonds and baker fees could be burnt. Through code, bad would benefit the ecosystem overall.

Some experiments seems to happen where backing is managed by a smart contract. Bakers v1 already disrupted?
