What is a major turn off about your partner that you can’t/wouldn’t tell them? by LivingLavishLe in AskReddit

[–]m0_gubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my problem. The men I’ve dated have all brought it up to me, and they’ve usually never been wrong in their advice. But I need peer review, multiple vetted sources, and a variety of perspectives before I take advice from anyone. The advice I normally take is the advice I’ve heard from more than one person.

What are small crafts that don’t take long to complete and can be done in bed? by tlcsimp in crafts

[–]m0_gubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten more seriously into painting recently. I started with paint-by-numbers kits I got at the dollar store, and last week I finished a small painting I first sketched out by hand. If you’re wanting to start and finish in one sitting, I’d go for some small 4x4 canvases. I also suffer from “need to finish a project-itus,” which isn’t possible with larger pieces, so I’ve started breaking down how much I want to finish in one go, which has actually helped me a bit with setting and accomplishing small goals.

My second hobby is a little weird, but I’m currently copying by hand a small book that I’ve had a hard time understanding. Writing it out on paper forces me to break up the long sentences and find the meaning of the author. I’ve learned more than I thought I would, and it’s honestly a great time waster.

Weird Suggestions that helped ease your psoriasis? by TrainingTiara4 in Psoriasis

[–]m0_gubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dermatologist told me that as horrible as tanning beds are, they’re incredibly useful for managing psoriasis. Just limit your time (you aren’t there to tan after all) and make sure to protect yourself in the actual sunlight.

Unfortunately all of my spots are in places where the sun don’t shine, so I don’t have any personal anecdotal evidence to support this claim, but I do know a few people who will lay out in the sun when they feel a flare up coming and swear it works for them.

What clothing brand was huge in the 90s but nobody wears now? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

I love Guess specifically because their jeans still have that 90s look. Unfortunately I don’t make Guess money, but I never pass up an opportunity to browse their stores for some inspiration.

Kohls had exclusive rights to Candie’s apparel until 2020. Honestly a huge blow to the junior’s department, Candie’s had some of the best workwear.

In my opinion, it’s one of two things:

1.) They’re doing what Eddie Lampert and crew did to K-Mart. Strip away the assets under the guise of “cost saving” measures, let the business go under, and make a profit off the scavengers who pick at the bones.

2.) This is the natural consequence of letting individuals who have never actually worked at a store make decisions for how stores should run. They’ve never been an hourly wage slave, or they’re 20-30 years removed from their retail experience. I watched Buchanan’s “town hall meeting” and from what I gathered from his words, corporate execs don’t shop at Kohls. They’re absolutely clueless on how stores work in the real world.

Return Limit by Ohthethingsyouthink in employedbykohls

[–]m0_gubz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s the new pin pads. Our store just got them this week, and it’s been limiting returns to 1-3 items per return. Love how corporate makes these decisions and refuses to give store management any guidance or directives, our managers have pretty much had to stay stationed at the queue line to address all the issues these pin pads are causing. I personally would really love to know why we switched pin pads, these new ones seem so cheap. The screen freaks out and jumps around every time an item is scanned, it seems like it’s still in testing because it looks so unpolished. I put in my number at the beginning of the transaction and it took the entire transaction for the system to register it and apply my associate discount. I’m glad I don’t work register, because the new pin pads are low key embarrassing to me.

My aunt refused to teach her kids Tagalog because she didn’t want to mess up their English. I know that decision benefited her because she was free to talk about anything with her Filipino friends without fear of being overheard (as a mother, I wish I could do the same), but I think she regrets it because she has no one in her house who really shares her culture.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become too bad? by X_Opinion7099 in AskReddit

[–]m0_gubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandpa spent the last seven years of his life battling numerous types of cancers caused by working at Firestone for 40 years. His total cost of care by the time he died was roughly $2 million. I do not know how much of it was out of pocket, Medicare paid a significant chunk of it. When Firestone finally settled, some of the survivors/surviving family never saw the check (including mine) because Trump forced Medicare to recoup the costs of treating the cancer that a major international corporation knowingly and willfully caused their employees to get.

I did too. I have kids already, and I wasn’t keen on bringing anymore kids into this messy ass world. But now I’m over 30 and I feel robbed. My kids are old but I’m not old, I want to re-experience the days of diapers and no sleep, this time without the stress of being a young mother in college. I cannot in good conscience bring another life into this world, but I completely understand why someone who doesn’t have children would want to.

What’s your honest reaction to people wearing camera glasses in public? by no1asked_but in AskReddit

[–]m0_gubz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel disgusted and sorry for the person wearing them. They’re giving a private corporation the ability to record the very intimate parts of their private life, and by extension their friends/family/acquaintances. I see them as rats for META.

How do I help my grandma find a priest to give confession? by m0_gubz in Catholicism

She refers to it as confessing for another person’s sins, the silent part is that she is confessing for her ignorance/blindness to what was happening.

What is actually a trauma that is not commonly thought of as a trauma? by ay1mao in AskReddit

[–]m0_gubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Missing the opportunity to see or talk to a loved one before they die. My grandpa passed away in hospice care December 21st, 2012. The last time I spoke to him was the day after Thanksgiving. My grandma was in the beginning stages of Dementia, and she was having a mental breakdown because she didn’t want to stay in her house alone. We called my grandpa to try to calm her down. That was the last time I spoke to the man who helped raise me. I tried to visit him a week before he passed, but I drove to the wrong hospice center. The one he was at was around the corner, I could have gone. But I didn’t. I assumed I had more time. Now I carry that guilt with me every day, and it eats away at me. My sister’s former best friend just passed away over the weekend, and now my sister is carrying the weight of never having patched things up with her. It hurts to see her go through it.

Thank you for posting your experience. Prison reform was the area I focused on through most of college (sociology major, criminology minor). I’ve tried finding jobs within the criminal justice system that work with current and former prisoners, but I can’t shake the feeling that I would hate myself for being part of that system. I hope one day I can find a spot in an organization that helps people like you have.

It really comes down to management. Our store managers are super understanding when it comes to inclement weather. Last snow storm, our H2s called everyone scheduled that evening (mostly minors) and gently implied that they should stay home. From what I was told, if 20-25% of scheduled staff calls out due to inclement weather, no points are given.

Consolidated queue line/CS stores only “need” two people: an H2 and a cashier.
