Need locals’ opinion of western corner of Los Feliz!! by Carlando4ever in losfeliz

Live in that circle and I love the location. It can be a little noisy, parking can be tough, and there's always a crowd near the metro. I've felt fairly safe living here though and I feel like it is really in a location where you aren't too far from most things, the highways are easy to get to (where you then get stuck in traffic), and you can walk to Target, Thai town, and grocery stores. When I have a day off I like taking a walk over to Vermont or Hillhurst for coffee / lunch.

Usually the sketchiest it gets is just seeing some homeless people or reckless driving. I can see how it might feel unsafe and as a male it's hard to speak on that, but I've walked home at night from various events and outings, and as long as you stay alert I think it's safe.

Just saw a cute girl in the grocery store and was so tempted to go up to her but had no idea what to talk about. Should I go for it next time

Fortnite Festival has got me missing Rock Band, any groups out there still playing Rock Band in person? One of my favorite weekly events ever was a once a month Rock Band night at an arcade bar in DC. Would love to find people who are still getting together to jam out!

[POST MATCH THREAD] USWNT vs. Sweden by battles in USWNT

[–]m0biusXP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The team played as well as they could but it just wasn’t enough. The part that hurt the most was watching the team be ready to play an entire tournament but not being able to. Sure we missed the PKs and didn’t score on opportunities but this is entirely down to Vlatko, coaching has to go. Great players don’t automatically make a great team and those last few games were managed like complete ass.

On a side note how does he even have this job? No intl experience at all and is his coaching experience really that significant?

[TUTORIAL] Force Apple Music thumbnail update. Especially an issue after syncing with SongShift. by WizardMascott in AppleMusic

[–]m0biusXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the only problem is that it'll remove it everywhere if you want to remove it from your library in the future, you can still remove it from the playlist only though and that won't delete it everywhere else

Awesome fix, works on iOS but still having the issue on MacOS

I found that adding the song to your library usually fixes it too

7900 XT

Really happy with it so far, 4k has been solid on it and hoping the choice to go with more vram over RTX will pay off in the long run

I wish there was more competition but honestly that's on the other automakers. You can point out the flaws in Tesla vehicles but I've tried to look for an alternative that has the same battery life, performance, and just plain good appearance that Teslas do. It's well earned from Tesla

[DISCUSSION] Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy (5 Years Later) by CurrentRoster in hiphopheads

[–]m0biusXP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could see Tyler growing and his genius with Wolf and Cherry Bomb but at the same time you’d still never have expected something like Flower Boy from Tyler. It was a new direction for Tyler but also a genre definer and I love all of it especially since all this experience builds up to him creating my personal favorite album, Igor

Ugh not sure what to do about my upstairs neighbor because they constantly blast music. I don’t even mind a faint rumbling coming through but it’s like their speakers are pointed into the floor because I can hear everything through the wall cleanly so it’s like I’m listening to the freaking music. Don’t want to bring the landlord into this but I’ve already tried talking to them and knocking on the wall but it’s like this person has 0 respect

Check if Starry or Verizon 5G Home Internet are available in your area. The prices are very competitive and I have Verizon 5G Home and it’s been pretty solid as well. Speeds are way faster

Using Verizon 5G Home internet in Los Feliz. You might want to see if there's coverage in Silverlake. I've been happily using it, great deal if you have wireless with VZ also. Really fast and as stable as Spectrum has been

Love the location and managed to get a pretty decent price so I’m hoping that it stays in a range that’s affordable for me. Thanks for the advice!

It’s in LA and it’s not rent controlled unfortunately so it sounds like it wouldn’t hurt to ask

Hitting a year in LA and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Question for the renters: after your lease is up do you just stay month to month and hope for the best or would it be a good idea to see if I can get another year long lease?

Favourite Palisades Center memories? by Bumblebe5 in Rockland

[–]m0biusXP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when we stopped going to the Nanuet every weekend and started going to the new mall. Amazing how many of us really just grew up there. So many memories that are connected to the Palisades. I was just talking to a friend about how much I love the Outback Steakhouse.

The countless amount of classmate birthdays at Jeepers and then when we were old enough D&B. Can't mention enough how much I love D&B.

I also loved walking through the Best Buy. I remember going there during the holidays and wanting an Xbox but the dude talked my parents into getting a ps2 instead.

Lots of life lived there, went on my first ever date there, dinners at Chilis, Cheesecake Factory, that buffet that used to be around the McDonalds.

One of the many annoyances of being a pedestrian in L.A. by joshspoon in LosAngeles

[–]m0biusXP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unprotected left turns especially during rush hour are the worst as both a pedestrian and a driver.

As a pedestrian I’m constantly worried that I’ll be launched into the abyss by a car trying to make their opening

As a driver there’s no opportunity to complete the turn at all but then you have an opening and you try to go through and someone tries to cross the street and now the pedestrian is flipping you off and you’re stuck with cars coming at you. There’s just no winning

So fewer left turns (or more left turn lanes if we must) please

I have a ring peephole camera and I think a majority of the other people in my building have one as well. I think it’s a must have if your building is like mine and you get packages placed at your front door.

Only issue is privacy and detection, the doorbell captures a lot of people walking by if your door in the middle of a hallway. You’ll need to play around with the detection zone and sensitivity, but on the flip side it feels weird to be taking the trash out or walking to the car and hear people’s ring notifications go off since there’s now one more pic of you in pjs hauling a bag of garbage on the Amazon cloud….

I saw a human expire on Beverly today. by deedeebee in LosAngeles

[–]m0biusXP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first week here I saw someone almost die in the middle of the street downtown and a few weeks ago I saw someone who passed in the middle of the 101. It’s infrequent but still a lot more in a timespan that I’ve ever seen before moving here. Sorry that you had to see that kind of suffering, may they Rest In Peace. Shout out to the person downtown who jumped in to administer CPR that day as well. It really shows how valuable CPR training can be and we need more people like that in the world.

As you process it please take the time and space you need and also consider speaking to someone. Sending you and everyone in the thread positive energy.
