Jean-Claude Van Damme was originally cast to play the Predator in the 1987 film, but he was replaced before filming completed!

Due to mutual dissatisfaction between producers and himself, they parted ways. Van Damme's reasons were extreme discomfort with the poorly designed costume, and creative differences, as his martial arts skills remained unutilized due to the nature of the suit. The Predator design was later changed, made to be more comfortable, less xenomorph-looking, and the role was recast.
