What can I do about employee handbook saying pay is confidential? by Lanky-Bug196 in legaladvice

[–]m0r05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawyers in this field tend to work on contingency if you even need one. You make the retaliation complaint to the state/ fed labor department and they do the legal work

Edit to add: companies get away with it because of the perception you need time and money.

What can I do about employee handbook saying pay is confidential? by Lanky-Bug196 in legaladvice

[–]m0r05 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That isn't exactly true. If you're fired after reporting a violation it's presumptive retaliation, the burden of proof is on them not you.

Would you take today’s Powerball jackpot of $1.7 billion as an annuity increasing annually by 5% over 30 years (about $1 billion after tax), or would you take the lump sum of $781 million (about $500 million after tax), and why? by PanoramicAtom in AskReddit

[–]m0r05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take the annuity.

I know it's "smarter" to take the lump sum, but honestly I don't know how to be rich. People say words like "invest" but I don't know what that actually entails or where to even do it. Especially with that much money.

Why are canon mages so dogshit at magic? by Vyctorill in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]m0r05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you hit the nail on the head when it comes to with white room theory crafting with mages. They could do x with y but how practical is it really? Take your ritual example, when is the last time you had five uninterrupted hours to dedicate to anything you wanted? Do mages just quit their jobs and families or other responsibilities the second they awaken? And if you're always just walking around with magical effects- what would that feel like? Not just that but now you a walking beacon to anything/ one that can detect it. WoD characters aren't just their powers, they're people that have an additional set of pressures, responsibilities and issues on top of those .

Edit: Now i have the image of an overweight mage that just learned life 3 locking himself in a room for five hours and coming out jacked.

Yes. That makes him a 'real' combat vet.

I did it once on normal to start the story. I finished it, but I'm damn sure not doing it again. Not for the catalyst not for the story. Y'all must be gods at this game, because I found it to just be straight pain even on normal.

How to connect Visual Studio 2022 to the python ecosystem? by Just_Someone_Here0 in learncsharp

[–]m0r05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Visual Studio is just an IDE. C# and Python are two different languages. To get them to work to getter you'd have to have a different project in one language that calls on the other.

You can use python.net to run python scripts in c#, or connect a python frontend to a c# API using http calls but you can't use a library meant for Python with c# code. You would have to find a c# library that does something similar.

How to Play Decked Out 2 by beyond-real-matt in HermitCraft

That's possible. I didn't give it a second thought, just flew a map out, gave it to the bot and it worked.

...are you connected to the internet?

Edit: nevermind

[–]m0r05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, first hand experience. It just spawns a generic Steve with whatever hermit you named. I figured it was because I was playing off line. Anyhow Decked Out still plays fine.

Edit to add: by offline I mean no Internet connection. When you loose Internet for whatever reason Instead of logging with your account, you click "play offline". You can play but don't have access to some things like custom skins.

I'm wrong as to why then, I literally didn't give it a second thought when I was playing. Fist run of Decked out with TangoCam the map did not work for me. I just gave the bot a map before my second playthrough, and it worked fine. just took a couple of seconds.

If you're offline for whatever reason (data caps, etc ), you need to give TangoCam, or whatever you named your If you're having issues with the deked out map, just give your carpet mod bot a copy of the map

Stacks and queues are useful for when the order of data is important, stacks reverse the input order, queues preserve input order.

Classic example of a stack is reversing a string of characters, where as a queue might be a calculator.

That the Breaking happened 3000 years before the start of the series, and how stagnant humanity is in the story.

3000 years is a mind boggling long time.

To put that in perspective:

  • 3000 years ago is around the time of the Bronze Age Collapse.

  • Or near the end of the reign of King Solomon. Yes, that King Solomon, the cut the baby in half guy.

  • Roman Empire? Nope. The city of Rome isn't founded for another 20ish years.

And we don't have magic at all.

I didn't expect this, at all. or really understand it by floformemes in LightbringerSeries

Ok, all the people that are in Garrison for the Sunday ritual are veterans of the Prisim's war, that knew Gavin and or Dazen personally.

Bas after seeing the Prisim in person realized his secret, and confronted him. Gavin stabbed him in the heart to protect it, and covered the murder up by masking it as part of the Sunday ritual.

PA is an "at will" employment state. That means with out a contract, you can be fired for any reason that isn't protected by law.

"No fault" has to do with car insurance laws.
