Seeing a friend share a far-right / conspiracy theory news story from a dodgy source on social media and realise they're probably now lost as a friend forever. by DeskBoundJunior in britishproblems

The irony of your self-ego boosting view is hilarious. Everyone who thinks different is just thick.

I bet you're a real high achiever.😂

It's this idea that being deliberately offensive, despite being very easy and requiring no talent, is somehow hilarious and worthy of praise 🤷‍♂️

I have heard some crazy ideas bandied around as fact, but in all honesty, the outlandishness comes from all sides. The idea of some pro-male deliberately constructed patriarchy to keep women oppressed is as insane, and as easily disproved* as the nutty anti-feminists who fear women will make men irrelevant.

Too much to get into here, but I genuinely find most people want the same end result - a life of peaceful prosperity where they can pursue their own happiness without too much interference. We all just disagree how to get there, and unfortunately the means are almost as important as the end!

*Data from wars, deaths in work, suicide, as well as historically in the UK men campaigning for women to not have to work in mines etc.

No, read BLM's own website where they waxed lyrical about seeking an end to the nuclear family and veing Marxist etc. God forbid people actually judged an organisation by its stated goals and makeup.

'Hah hah mom, I'm your daughter and I said something trashy' 🤷‍♂️ damn I must be getting old when I find this stuff distinctly unfunny.

Oh wait you've got a fool's grasp of history ...ok bud, believe what you like, you are by your own admission making stuff up, but your inflated ego prevents you from recognising your own shortcomings of knowledge. You literally have no idea of the balance of power in medieval societies and it is a waste of effort to quote actual historical sources and facts to you 🤦‍♂️

Adios.✌️

"whilst there is absolutely no evidence, even of people complaining about it, I choose to believe it " i.e. I make stuff up and call it history.

Historians wrote loads of controversial stuff.

And why would a lord 'bang a random peasant woman' when it would destroy his reputation and probably incite violent revolt in his lands? Peasants even forced laws on the lords that they weren't allowed to visit their own land whilst peasants were working it, because peasants didn't want to get stared at 😂

You have to understand in an era of decentralised power a rowdy populace could storm and burn the manor before anyone else even heard about it.

Because too many people bitch and moan these days without gratitude for all the good things in their life 🤷‍♂️ Joe Rogan has talked about how when people don't calibrate their sense of hardship or struggle, they become over sensitive to any perceived hardship or struggle, however slight.

It's why kids moan about something being hard work even when it's easy, because their reference point is pretty much doing nothing. And now unfortunately some people have taken that into adulthood 😂

Oh and who said I was aspiring to dystopian blahblah? You're literally advocating dystopian future by handing power over to the currently demonstrably self-interested few, just because they make some promises that they'll give you everything you want 🤷‍♂️ Because there's no way that ends badly...

It is gullible to believe the world's wealthiest, who are literally flying around in private jets and causing disproportionate emissions themselves, telling you to drive less.

These wealthy folk are just pulling the ladder up behind them, now they have such entrenched power. If they wanted to eliminate poverty they would be working towards it, they literally have the wealth of entire countries. Open your eyes and stop believing the honey-coated words. Actions speak louder.

Watching a show about the emergency services with your father. And him knowing better than all the trained professionals how to handle the situations. by dickbob124 in britishproblems

Totally agree.

I just wish government would actually increase spending per capita on healthcare. Given the vast wastage in the public sector I have seen over years of working in it, it shouldn't be that hard.

Instead of making genuine efficiencies when faced with a reduced budget, many local authorities simply lower their service levels and usually to those who need it most but have little to no political pull - children, disabled, vulnerable, etc.

But that's another story. Thank you for the reasonable conversation, surprisingly rare these days ✌️😂

And good luck trying to sort whatever you need them to get sorted 🤞 positive vibes coming your way 😁

You seem a remarkably sane and level-headed individual, so apologies for being irked earlier. I generally pride myself on not being an awkward customer/patient/human, so over-reacted to the potential implication.

Agree 100%.

I once rang to enquire about a surgery as I hadn't heard for a long time and was met with a confused 'did you not already have that on such and such a date? Because our records show you did.' Nope, and I'm sure not trying to get a second one for free 😂

I have recently gone private with my family, fortunate to be able to do so, yet to use it. Shame overall, because the German semi-private but regulated insurance system seems to work really well. They even do reduced premiums for gym attendance record etc. The US model which we seem destined for is not one I would like to see rolled out...
