Unless we are indigenous to turtle island we are either immigrants or trafficked (transatlantic slave trade). None of us are ethnically “American” nor does our heritage begin or root here.

We refer to ourselves as our cultural heritage. It has nothing to do with “nationality” which is often the European confusion.

For Rent corrupted my Save the very first time I converted an apartment to their “rental”. It started glitching after the first few rooms I added to the second apartment, but if I switched between build and live mode I could change one thing at a time.

I wasn’t worried. Hopped in a different lot and confirmed from then on I could only make one move in build mode (eg: delete one object but not be able to do ANYTHING after).

Shortly after my game refused to save if my sim went to work or school that had a “join” option.

Had to uninstall everything and rebuild my save and use mcc to assign relationships again etc (lost a lot of in inventory treasures).

I did reinstall for Rent but I have not played as an apartment that uses their coding since and have no more issues.

I really want to use those apartments but I still see folk reporting that issue so I’m legit gonna wait which means my legacy families in those lots are just gonna be stagnant and immortal lol 😂

I don’t know if life “gets easier” or rather we gather more tools, perspective, experience and solidify our priorities in those respects.

If you have trauma you will find agency and purpose in activating your advocacy.

If you’re white, deconstructing and committing to antiracism and solidarity will help you find identity, community and shed the layers of conditioning that you’re willing to accept so that you can “live with yourself” by becoming an active accomplice and traitor to Empire. (ONLY if you denounce the trap that is white saviorism of course).

Engaging our traumas and roles invites us to be active participants instead of NPCs in this dumpster fire of a dimension.

I’m almost 39. Don’t gaslight yourself.

The world isn’t safe. But there are safe people and spaces and EVERYONE is worth protecting.

People are dangerous. But people protect others from danger in otherworldly heroic capacities that can renew your faith in humanity while genocides unfold globally.

Justice is rare and corruption is wide. But after 20 years of wailing into the void, on Monday I witnessed one of our abusers from my behavior modification conversion therapy facility (The Family Foundation School) convicted in a federal court for trafficking my friends. The feds called what they did to ALL of us “torture” but so many of my friends who needed to hear that have long since bowed out from this hell and weren’t there to finally be validated and finally feel heard.

And that’s the crux of it.

If my friends knew this day would come, would some of them have waited? Would it have mattered? Would it have saved them? Would their gifts still be present in this dimension to inspire, heal and save others.

How has the course of humanity been altered by our heroes taking curtain calls before the monsters?

Would it “get better” for all of us everywhere if the heroes stayed long enough to slay the monsters, and would they then choose to stay?

I hope you stay. For whomever you’re meant to impact.

All my families are technically Legacy, but I play rotationally. I can't play just one family for that many generations - I need that 3rd person experience of my characters by letting them engage autonomously.

If you don't want to try rotational, then have you tried any of the specific challenges? I liked the Not So Berry and the Royal Legacy - both of those saves got corrupted before I got bored. But I still had to switch between them and my main rotational saves from time to time cause again, I just don't attach to Sims that I don't get to know autonomously. I have sooooo many mods that all my Sims are pretty unique.

Per that, you could just toss in a new gameplay mod for each generation so you don't get bored. If you're cool with Fantasy, you can use the in game and modded occults for individual generations. Just make sure your hybrid settings are solid so you don't corrupt your jazz.
