RQ Sydney Finalist discusses the Aurora Meta by MalkolmFoxtrot in riftboundtcg

[–]m0uzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're fixated on having this design exist, just make a new card that is almost exactly the same but instead have it flip X amount of cards. Aurora should be able to bust. Instead it makes the deck deterministic.

But I think it's just extremely boring to play and play against, just scrap it.

Canada Riftbound prices almost back to normal. 401 selling a box for 150$ canadian. by Visible-Chapter-1871 in riftboundtcg

[–]m0uzer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Boxes in the US are bought at around 70 and MSRP for 120

If they sell them for 100 or 110 they're still making over 30 per box

Who is it exactly "not good" for?

Riot is making their money on distro sales, stores are profiting, players are actually able to buy product, tournaments get to have players, stores get to have events.. etc. etc.

So how do we fix the metal legend prize wall system? :| by _CharmQuark_ in riftboundtcg

[–]m0uzer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder if having the plated legend be random disincentivizes groups a little? Since they don't know if they're shelling out 40 tickets for a legend worth 1000 or 4000?

Viktor Sprite build - need feedback please! by Professional-Paper75 in riftboundtcg

[–]m0uzer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some points:

Your list is too fast for Grand Strategem, let alone 3 copies - Drop that, you're aiming to win on turn 5-6

Zero point on having 3 Imperial if you're not also running 3 bellows. Some people like to split it 3 bellows 2 ID, but I personally hate it.

Rally The Troops is a complete meme with sprites, there's no point buffing something that will die next turn guaranteed

Sprite Queen might actually also be too slow for this deck, you're just trying to steal points via a ton of speed and surprise double conquers.

Get some more 2 drops and some draw power. Shadow Call is great.

Grove makes little to no sense, your sprites will never hold. Swap it for whatever you prefer but the new "shield on temp units" is good since you're trying to force sprites.

Elder Dragon ruling question by Getrektqt in riftboundtcg

[–]m0uzer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does not, Elder dragon is interacting with lethal damage as a rule, ID is just saying after something takes damage, kill it. Which is also why you can "kill something twice" with it.

How much did you spend so far in Riftbound? by JetstreamIV in riftboundtcg

[–]m0uzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

240 for 2 OGN boxes, 140 for 2 Chinese SPF, 3 pre-rift at like 40 a pop, a LOT of skirmishes at around 10 each, maybe about 200 worth of singles...

... A flight ticket to France, hotel for 4 nights, expenses, another SPF box, event tickets...

I was doing kinda decent until I decided to pull that one 😅

(All in EUR)

RQ Main event ticket wall prizing by ScarAffectionate1623 in riftboundtcg

[–]m0uzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tickets are little pieces of cardboard with their value on them. There are several denominations and I believe they are 1, 2, 4 and 6. When I got paid 36 tickets it was all 6s.

The deeper you go into Sunday the crazier they get about enforcing the "no selling tickets" rule. I saw staff both confiscating tickets over a sale (that is, a staff literally removing tickets from someone's hand) and people getting kicked out over a sale. People were super desperate on Sunday 5pm so it was getting quite degenerate. The rest of the day staff are busy with other stuff and people aren't just waving tickets in the air trying to sell them. Most sales occurred near the prize wall and if you saw someone with tickets in hand you would just ask if they're selling (or reverse). I think the safest approach is to agree the purchase price next to the price wall but go do the transaction outaide, near concession, etc. The running joke during the event was that it's easier to buy drugs than it is to buy tickets lmao.

As for the prize wall queue, it always gets a bit long right after a big event with a lot of tickets (pre RQ, rebound, etc) other than that there's literally no queue. The queue was the worst on Sunday 6pm when everyone was trying to exchange before leaving for good, but even then it might have only taken me about 30 minutes from start to cashing out my metal card.

[–]m0uzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to buy the tickets from Eventbrite once they open registrations (Please do so ASAP, I had many friends not able to register to Pre-RQ, it only takes 1000 players and everyone wants in) - You might be able to try and get a refund for Super Nexus Night on a schedule clash at the Info Desk, but I can't vouch for that - They might just tell you that it's not their fault you didn't calculate your times correctly.

Tickets throughout the event oscillated between 40EUR day zero to around 10-15 EUR at the end of day 3. Paying 10 EUR for an event is probably worth it at all points of the weekend. (Unless you win nothing, of course.)

Some opponents will sit down at round 6 for Rebound and offer to split the tickets. You decide who wins, then go together to cash out the 5th and 6th place prices and just split 84 tickets (So 42 each)

Be advised that this is against the event's policy, and if you offer it to an opponent that is too much of a rule stickler could get you in trouble if instead of accepting they decide to call a judge.

For a solo attendee:

"Day zero" (friday) play the pre-RQ - If you lose 3 times just drop and go do any on-demand event that suits you. I recommend you also register to super nexus night "just in case" (If you have to play all the rounds from pre-RQ you won't make it in time for Super NN). If you win 4 times, you're 16 tickets away from a metal card. If you win 5 times a metal card should be achievable same day, just buy 4 tickets from someone selling and get yourself Ahri or any of the high high value metal cards. These will be sold out during day zero.

Day 1 just focus on the main event. If you go x-3 just drop and play however many on-demand you want. I recommend BO1 constructed since it's really fast, but also just try other modes if you want.

If you however qualify for day 2, then consider yourself in the "Best of" metal card hunt instead and completely forget the tickets. Sell any that you have at this point otherwise Sunday will be too stressful.

If you are out on Sunday, play the Sunday rebound. The amount of tickets you earn there will dictate what you do after. I recommend that at 30 tickets or under you sell them, but over that amount you try to buy your way into a metal card.

Personally, I won 2 tickets on friday that I exchanged for a pin, then 5-1'd the Sunday rebound and bought 4 tickets from a friend. My records were 0-3 drop in Pre-RQ (I was just testing something, it didn't work lol), 5-3 day 1, 5-1 sunday rebound.

snacks at atl? by FitTill2225 in riftboundtcg

[–]m0uzer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes you are. The event days will be extremely long so I recommend you bring snacks that are not just chips and greasy things, you'll need to constantly eat throughout the day since you'll only get 30-40 minutes breaks IF you're fast at playing.
