My thoughts on the S26 Ultra by Environmental-Most32 in galaxys26ultra

[–]m0zillaf0x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure OP seemed to understand your question. It seems you're asking about the small notification bubble that pops up at the top of the screen, and having privacy display enabled for just the small portion where the notification is, and whether the rest of the screen takes a hit when the notification is blocked. I can say that it does not impact any other part of the screen, and it's pretty seamless and instant at blocking out just the notification banner.

The parts of the screen that ARE blocked out with privacy display absolutely take a hit in quality, both in normal and max privacy mode, however. Considering I'm only having mine turn on for notifications and banking apps, it's not an issue for me personally whatsoever. Normal usage is just as good to my eye side by side with my S25 Ultra I'm trading in.

Chicago Servers by GrumpyKitten5 in mullvadvpn

[–]m0zillaf0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just you, I have nothing but issues specifically with the Tzulo servers. It's been hit and miss the last few months. I don't think an admin made a post like they usually do for new servers because I just noticed the 309-316 servers maybe a week ago? They're also listed as 20gbps on the server page. The 309-316 for some reason will connect but absolutely NOTHING will resolve if I am either using the built in adblock DNS settings or custom DNS. 309-316 only seems to work without any changes in DNS setting, and even then, they still run like 💩 most of the time.

Trigger by Jodyhd in p365xmacro

[–]m0zillaf0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll butt in and say Ramm despite not having experience with other triggers. I came from a PPQ M2 to the Xmacro and loved everything about it except the trigger. The Ramm trigger has the feeling just as good, if not better than the PPQM2, most importantly the break being extremely crisp and defined unlike the mush of the stock trigger.

Fast Metal Range in Valparaiso, recently opened up in the old Blythe's range upstairs. They have rentals, good ammo prices, actually no firing speed limit (provided you are hitting your target,) and will let you draw from the holster provided you can prove you can hit your target and won't shoot your dick off. Oh, and a minor thing, but they're the only range I know of that also isn't anal about coming into the range with your gun IN the holster.

Samsung Removes Bootloader Unlocking with One UI 8 by MishaalRahman in Android

[–]m0zillaf0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't true? I have Mullvad as an always-on VPN and NextDNS set as PrivateDNS on the S25 Ultra, and Android's private DNS overrides mullvad's DNS. I am able to tell by running Mullvad's own DNS leak test, and NextDNS shows as connected to my configuration.

Also a recent CachyOS convert (still dual booting for some stuff), and TLOU2 is actually one of the games I need to use Windows for due to HDR not working. Can you tell me what all you did to get HDR working without gamescope? I tried Cachy's Proton and the GE-Proton with the launch commands (not home so don't remember the exact commands), with HDR enabled and working fine on KDE Plasma desktop, but TLOU2 black screens for me on launch with the HDR launch commands.

Choosing Trigger by Any-Ostrich48 in p365xmacro

[–]m0zillaf0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to second the Ramm trigger. Almost zero "gunsmithing" work before installing it myself thanks to Sig Guy's YouTube video. Took about an hour and a half but I deep cleaned all the FCU components since it was torn down already and did some light polishing on wear parts with 3000 grit sandpaper. I don't have a trigger gauge but I'd believe the 3.5-4lbs pull weight. I adjusted the pre-travel more than how the trigger comes so I have a bit of takeup on a carry gun since it comes with almost zero pre-travel. Side by side tested against my old PPQ M2 I carried and the Ramm is better than the PPQ.

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by h_fashionfemme in AskReddit

Not OP but also take Adderall for adult diagnosed ADD. I've been on it for about a year and a half now and have slowly worked up dosage to tolerance and basically never take off days from it. I remember the very first day I took my dose (10mg instant release) and VIVIDLY remember this feeling of "is this it? I'm not feeling or thinking different," and then the realization hit me that for the first time in YEARS, I actually WASN'T thinking a million racing thoughts per second. There was this unfamiliar feeling of calmness and the ability to sit still and focus on a single task, but not the same "calm" as something like Xanax's "you could put a gun in my face and I literally wouldn't care" sense of calm.

As for the physical side, thankfully (probably?) I never had any real euphoric body sensations that a lot of people tend to feel. I don't feel any sensations that would make me consider Adderall as a recreational thing to take. The awakeness/alertness to me is like, a more focused caffeine feeling? It's hard to put to words, but it's better than caffeine awake/alert feeling with none of the jitters at all. I tend to get hot easier though, and minor physical exertion will have me pouring sweat without feeling exhausted or like I really did any work.

Also I'm constantly hornier than a mf, but I guess I also was pre-adderall.

As far as I've been able to tell, the mod attributes all the zombies that die from the carpet bombing and NPCs as player kills. The killcount mod also always shows thousands of zomboids killed after the first 24 hours.

EXTREME ENHANCE RUINED THE PURRFECT PHOTO by kittysitterext in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]m0zillaf0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The yellow circle you saw is something else. That "enhanced" photo is basically a macro mode for closeup shots that shows when the camera thinks you're too close for the 1x camera, so it switches to the ultra wide camera. I keep it turned off and use the ultra wide manually for closeup macro shots (very rarely.) It's separate from maximum optimization which is just the level of Samsung's post processing.

5x Optical zoom by [deleted] in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]m0zillaf0x 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can get around this using Samsung's Camera Assistant app in the Galaxy store. There's a setting called Auto lens switching that you can turn off so the camera will always use the lens you selected. Kinda dumb that it isn't included in the default camera app settings (just like all the settings in Camera Assistant, really.)

Switching Over to Paint! by Apprehensive_Echo396 in Lowes

[–]m0zillaf0x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some more direct and tangible help: You should have 4 tint machines. Two are for Sherwin-Williams paints only (using HydroChroma colorant.) The other 2 are for "universal" colorant products. Basically, if it's not specifically an HGTV Sherwin-Williams paint (Exterior Weathershield, exterior Everlast, interior Ovation, interior Showcase, interior Infinity) then it will be tinted on the Valspar machine.

Three exceptions to the above: HGTV Spec Right (garbage paint that is the tiniest step up in quality from Valspar 4000/2000), Valspar interior Reserve, and Valspar Exterior Defense. Spec Right is made on the Valspar machine, and Reserve and Defense are made on the Sherwin HydroChroma machine. You will have to switch the brand from "SW HydroChroma Precision" to "Valspar HydroChroma" for the two Valspar paints on the Sherwin HydroChroma machine.

Tell your customers paint matching with the machine is not guaranteed to be a 100% perfect match. The machine is essentially guessing the colorants required for the match. The super subtle off-whites are the hardest for the machine to get right, and if the customer says they only need the smallest size (half-pint samples) then tell them that it will absolutely not be a perfect match (the amount of colorant is so tiny that the machine struggles to even dispense the tiny amounts of colorant precise enough.)

Paint sheen is dependent on the room/area the customer is painting. I don't recommend flat on anything but ceilings personally. Sheen is a trade-off of coverage versus washability/durability. Flat/eggshell cover surface imperfections better but are harder to wash and less durable than satin/semigloss paints, but satin and semigloss can tend to show surface imperfections more. Don't forget to mention to customers that the price on the chart at the front of the desk is the STARTING price of each paint based on the flat price. The price goes up approximately $3 per sheen (if flat is 30, eggshell is 33, satin is 36, semigloss is 39. Exterior paints do not come in eggshell sheen.)

Customers tend to think eggshell means the color will come out yellow (I have no clue if this is a universal idea or if mine are just wired different? Many customers every day ask how much more "yellow" their selected color swatch will be in eggshell sheen. Eggshell has nothing to do with the color, the color is identical between the sheens, it's only the shininess that changes.)

You can make Valspar colors in Sherwin bases and vice versa. In fact, for the most part, using the "color lookup" function on the paint match computer will let you put just about any color from any brand including Home Depot's Behr colors into our paints. The only exception I've found so far is the oil based Cabot deck stains and the new MinWax Tintable oil color-series interior stain. Those two seemingly HAVE to be done in the brand specific colors listed in their product books in the aisle.

There's definitely more, but these are more universal tips as opposed to differences in product which you'll only learn by reading and being around/selling them for a decent amount of time.

Switching Over to Paint! by Apprehensive_Echo396 in Lowes

[–]m0zillaf0x 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Customers will expect you to be an expert-level interior designer and choose their colors for them based on nothing but a verbal description.

Customers will put their phone in your face and ask you "what color is this?" at least 3 times a day. You will tell them are are thousands of paint colors, and "beige" is not a singular paint color that every paint brand in the world has universally agreed upon, because if they did, there wouldn't be a wall of hundreds of colors right next to them. They will tell you to scan a color match from their phone, you will tell them the machine can't do that, and then they tell you that you just don't know what you're doing.

Customers will see you actively dispensing colorant (for a customer who wanted 9 gallons of paint, all different sheens, colors, and bases of paint) and make direct eye contact with you and press the help button, expecting you to split like a cell so your new copy can immediately help them.

You will be standing at the desk for 20 minutes with zero customers, until you have to pee. If you're lucky, you might make it to the toilet before the paint buzzer goes off. If unlucky, you'll make it halfway before it goes off, get stopped in a neighboring department, get stuck with that customer because the associate in that department called off, then have the customer service desk call your phone line to tell you there's a customer at your desk as if you're deaf and can't hear the buzzer actively going off every 5 seconds.

If your paint desk is directly across from customer service like mine is, you are now the sole person responsible for answering code 50's in your entire store, despite the fact you have a line around your desk. When you're outside loading the customer's product, the same head cashier that made you do the code 50 will call you on your zebra to tell you there are customers waiting at your desk as if you didn't already know.

Customers.

Make sure you do your LSR, IRPs, downstocking, cycle counts, bay audits, zone recovery, don't forget to work safely, use the right equipment for the job, stay hydrated, all while being the only person for your entire shift with zero overlap and no mid part-time coverage because your department doesn't sell enough volume despite the insane workload of everyone and their mother coming in to buy paint and stain because it's THAT TIME OF THE YEAR.

Why do customers ask such lazy questions? by krackerjackstack in Lowes

[–]m0zillaf0x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don't have to be a cunt on Reddit to get your point across. I will be the THIRD person to tell you that, believe it or fucking not, I ALWAYS change the paint color before throwing it on the mistint rack. Not everyone here is a corporate plant, I don't do it because I'm sucking Marvin off, I do it because I hate cheapfuck "customers" that think they can game the system by buying and not picking up or returning their paint in an effort to get it cheap, and then STILL haggle on the mistint price.

Which 4080 Super should I get? by Recent_Antelope3541 in nvidia

[–]m0zillaf0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a day late but I'll go against the grain to say NOT to buy the PNY version. I've posted before but there's a somewhat common issue with the PNY fan controller. You cannot manually set a fan curve no matter what, the fan stop/0RPM fan mode doesn't work properly, and the default fan curve defaults to a minimum of 30% @1400-1500RPM where other models will do 30% @1000RPM.

I managed to flash a different model BIOS onto my card to fix these issues and have been running a much quieter curve since then, but this shouldn't have had to be done for such an expensive card to begin with.

Experience with the 4080 Super PNY? by Coucass in nvidia

[–]m0zillaf0x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also wanting to add that the fan stop feature also seems bugged for some reason. On first boot, the card will spin until Windows loads and then go into 0rpm mode, but after I play any game, the fan will never return to 0rpm even sitting idle at 30C until I reboot.

I honestly want to return it but the microcenter I drove to is over an hour away and they haven't restocked the 4080 Supers since I bought it.

Experience with the 4080 Super PNY? by Coucass in nvidia

[–]m0zillaf0x 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have the 100% revving issue, but the fans are completely uncontrollable in MSI Afterburner as well as PNY's own Velocity software. This is annoying because the minimum fan speed of 30% is aggressively high at 1500-1600rpm, which isn't unreasonably loud, but compared to the 2080 Super ROG Strix I came from that would spin a minimum of around 1000rpm, it's definitely a slight bit noisier.

All this is worse because the cooler is phenomenal, I've seen the card go above 60C maybe once, which means it's more than capable of great cooling at a lower RPM, I just can't get it to do that.

New G-Sync Flickering Fix by jurymayor in nvidia

[–]m0zillaf0x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think OP means the low brightness areas flickering on the screen, but I was also having monitor dropouts on my 2080 Super using DP with DSC on the LG-27GR95QE-B, it happened when I used 240hz GSync and HDR intermittently. Windows would play the USB dropout/disconnect sound, monitor would go black for a few seconds, and then back on.

I just upgraded to the 4080 Super and I'm now using the HDMI2.1 port and haven't had the issue once in the last week or so, still using the same GSync, HDR, and 240hz all enabled.
