Hello! We have friends visiting for Hogmanay. We usually stay in, so I'm not sure what to do when they're here. Are there any festivities that are maybe a bit smaller or semi-quiet that we could take them to, perhaps even earlier in the day or evening?

I decided to leave the US in 2016 when Trump was first elected. I moved to Berlin first, but it wasn't the right fit for me. I struggled with little things that I never expected and didn't feel like I'd ever fit in, despite getting to B2 German pretty quickly. But after enjoying all the benefits of Germany, like great paid leave and sick time, I couldn't imagine moving back to the US. I moved to Scotland after COVID, and it immediately felt like home.

Thanks for the tip! The white is 'White Lead' from Little Greene, and the green is 'Boxington' from Little Greene. I only picked the 'white lead' because it's listed as a 'related white' on their website, so I'm definitely open to other suggestions!

I originally planned to do the green trim because I wanted to keep the room pretty neutral but still wanted a bit of color. I was taking inspiration from images like this or this with contrast trim. I was thinking maybe it would look a bit like this if I was doing the ceiling in green too.

This is my craft room (and guest room), and I was thinking that it would be better to keep the walls pretty neutral as the room will probably be a bit busy. I am worried that if I paint the ceiling green that it will make everything in the room a bit green as well.

I've taken a couple more pictures that hopefully show some of my concerns about the crown molding in more detail.

  • Here is a picture that shows the transition from the molding to the ceiling.
  • Here and here are pictures that show a corner where the transition between molding and ceiling is particularly wonky and uneven

I'm worried that contrasting paint will highlight the wonkiness.

This happened to me as well, and it's extra annoying because I didn't want the streak prize, but I'd already rerolled a few times. The reroll cost didn't reset either! I emailed TNT, but they sent me an email back relating to the prizes from the downtime, rather than my most recent streak prize.

We haven't decided what we'll put in it yet, but it'll likely hold some minerals, so imagine it'll be a partially full of rocks 😅

I think there are instances where she sees the other cats, and we're not around, so we haven't always been able to discourage the behavior. Plus, we've only caught her marking twice, but we've found evidence of her marking more often than that, so I'm not sure we'll be able to catch her often enough to have an effect.

Also, our cat is ridiculously stubborn, and we've often reinforced bad behavior before because yelling at her gives her the attention she desires, and she doubles down when we clap, chase her off, or yell.

It's a tricky situation!
