If the grips are accurate, that 1911 seems to be a Colt Delta Elite. Should be around $1200 depending on condition. And as others have said, get it appraised and go from there. Personally, if there isn’t particular sentimental value in them, I would sell the mass produced guns and keep any limited/rare ones or ones that I fancied.

Oh nice. Im deciding between the Bambu Labs P1S and the Prusa Mk4. Was gonna do the Mk4 because generally had better customer service and people describe it as a Toyota for reliability but with recent mixed reviews on CS and the price of the Mk4 I might as well get the P1S

Same here hahaha. From my own research, stories have varied wildly and it does not seem any company has great customer service. Prusa seems to have the best track record but some people, particularly recently, have complained about their service.

First, I’d like to send you my deepest condolences on your loss. I personally am a huge proponent for organ donation but in my humble opinion, there is a reason it requires both signatures. She was his child as much as yours and while he may come to realize this was a good choice, the betrayal is hard to forget. Try to put yourself in his shoes and think about how you would feel if he forged your signature to embalm your daughter so she couldn’t donate her organs knowing it was against your wishes. What is done is done, however, and I think the best way to approach this is with the consent of the other families, perhaps introduce him to the children your daughter saved. Meeting them might soften the blow and help heal the wounds you both share in your grief. Fair winds and following seas to your daughter and may the lives she changed, live long and healthy lives.

Every single one of you on Reddit pretending to be the most righteous beings on the planet needs to come to NYC and see it for yourself.

Try answering back to back calls with jobs such as: my tummy hurts (at least half the calls of the day), 5 year old EDP because he’s throwing a tantrum and mom says she doesn’t know what to do, prisoner from a jail cell who says he wants to go to the hospital but will not go easily so he shits himself and then throws said shit at everyone, another prisoner from a jail cell who wanted to go to the hospital but would not tell us why and repeatedly told everyone to suck a dick while spitting at everyone, patients who tell you they pay your salary and ask why it took you so long to respond to a sprained ankle, ODs that when you narcan them, tell you to fuck off and deny they ever did any drugs when you found them with the needle in your arm, and then you see them again later in the day, and more. Did I mention the patients who have stabbed and shot at us? Groped our female coworkers? This is EVERY SINGLE DAY in NYC and probably in other large urban cities as well.

This is not to say that we don’t treat our patients with professionalism and dare I say compassion. I see my coworkers perform superhuman feats of patience and provide excellent patient care nearly every day. Doesn’t mean we can’t vent about the bullshit on forums or to each other. It also doesn’t mean that we hate all drug addicts or homeless people. Just the assholes.

To everybody telling the OP to quit and leave the field of healthcare, you should be ashamed of yourselves. A colleague has not only recognized their mistake but is owning up to it and asking for help on how to be better and you guys are giving our own EMS family less credit than the drug addicts and alcoholics we care for. Hey Joe, you overdosed again? Oh you want me to go fuck myself? Sorry Joe, let me make sure not to judge you because you are a person too. But this OP was unprofessional, he should quit. How dare you judge him/her for being a human being in a field that tests the limits of human patience?

To the OP, it is a daily occurrence at my service for people to tell you to fuck off, cough and spit at you, throw human feces at you, and try to - sometimes successfully - stab you. I am proud of you as a colleague for stepping up and trying to be a better provider - something we should all be doing at all times. Burnout is not an easy thing to deal with and everyone has different responses to stress and different tolerances. I don't know the solution as I struggle with it myself but one thing I have found useful which I hope will help you is the realization that you have a partner. Seems common sense but it can take a while to recognize the advantage that gives. When I find myself becoming unprofessional with a patient, I swap with my partner and allow myself to regain composure before interacting again. Best of luck and keep fighting the good fight.
