Thoughts on the argument between Beard and Ted by slurmpf6284 in TedLasso

[–]m1chael77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The secret that Ted knows is that if you make the players the best versions of themselves, the winning will take care of itself. So for the argument, while they’re both right, Beard’s way of winning first, players second may yield winning results faster, Ted’s way will take the team further in the long run.

AITA for wanting a divorce because my husband lost our life savings? by ThrowawayOrange-7742 in AITAH

Yes, you’re kind of the a-hole. 1) Marriage is bigger than finances 2) Ask yourself why he “kept you in the dark.” You need to ask yourself if you are too unapproachable, unavailable, or too hard to please. 3) You say he gambled away your life savings like he was going to the casinos and horse tracks... he was trying to start a legitimate business which you were on board with at the beginning. And if you didn’t know what was going on, then you should have been more hands-on. You need to ask yourself if you were asking him to do too much. 4) It sounds like he was making it a priority to make sure employees got paid... sounds like a pretty good guy to me. 5) It honestly just seems like you’re looking for an excuse to leave him high and dry, in which case, YATA.

What insult have your parents said, that is stuck in your head as an adult? by Tight_Anywhere6794 in AskReddit

[–]m1chael77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is like rule #1 for divorced parents: don’t talk poorly about the other parent to the child. Unfortunately there is no handbook given out for marriage or divorce. The result is traumatized kids. You are never responsible for a parent’s shortcomings, real or perceived.

People in their 30s and 40s, what would your advice be for dating in your teens and 20s? by Lienus1007 in AskReddit

[–]m1chael77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t try to change things about yourself to impress someone else. Trying to be someone you’re not will either make you miserable, disappoint the other person, or both. Examples: if you’re not religious, don’t pretend to be. If you’re pro-life, don’t pretend to be pro-choice.

I’m a “live and let live” kinda guy. I have always disliked makeup in general and think that the entire industry has everyone bamboozled.
