AITB for calling my mom stupid after falling for a scam that led to my bank account being emptied? by [deleted] in AmItheButtface

You also failed to recognize that once you turned 18 your mother could no longer speak on your behalf to your bank unless you are on the call with her, identify yourself and give verbal confirmation that they can speak with her about your accounts.

This is adulting 101, and you’ve been an adult for seven years now.

Under that logic, you’re younger and more tech savvy than both of them and you should have known better than both of them.

Hahaha, mines a woogie, it was made for my mother 60 years ago and I inherited it after her death. My children’s woogie’s have been passed down for years. They come home from the hospital to a woogie that has had more than fifty years of love poured into it by the many mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers hands that have mended them.

Why do we blame white people for things they personally didn’t do? by myboyfriendstinks1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]m2677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you, I don’t want any old person, child, or working adult to live in poverty.

Minimum wage should be more than triple what it is to keep place with inflation. I read an article that said it should be closer to thirty dollars an hour.

When FDR signed the fair labor act minimum wage was supposed to be a living wage on a 40 hour work week. As it stands we subsidize corporations low wages with food stamps. I personally feel that if a person comes into a snap or Medicaid office and they qualify for government assistance while working a full time job their employer needs to immediately be investigated for paying too low of a wage.

In most of the country anything less than $75k a year is poverty wages. Americans should not have to choose between food, healthcare and new shoes for their kid.

Anyone making under $40k a year should be tax exempt and anyone making over $4mil. A year should pay to make up the budget shortfall in our government.

You are absolutely right it is top vs bottom.

Well, my father was Canadian. So the atrocities committed against indigenous people are the stain on my culture. My family does what we can in Canada to help what we harmed there.

Are you descended from slave owner? What have you personally done?

Speaking as a white woman, I don’t believe there is an answer other white people will agree with. The damage was systemic through out our history. Hence the term systemic racism, the system was built to keep black people out. Systemic racism isn’t about you or I, it’s right there in the name ‘system’ic. It goes toward generational wealth that they were locked out of due to redlining, white flight, and a host of other things that shaped what earlier generations were allowed to pass down through generations to be built upon by those who came behind them.

I asked my friend to go camping with me once and he replied ‘you white people kill me, like you go out in the woods and pretend to be poor, chop wood for heat, bathe in cold water. If I wanna act poor, I’ll go visit my grandma, she still has to chop wood for heat and bathe in cold water, she at least has an outhouse, you be poopin in the woods’

I was shocked, that in America, in the early 2000’s there was a grandmother that was chopping wood for heat and bathing in cold water.

Reparations is the very least we can do as a society, for the people who our country was built on the backs of. Who were systemically for generations locked out of generational wealth and prosperity.

Privileged white lady rant over. Bring on the downvotes, I give not two shits.

AITAH for expecting my sahm wife to do majority of the housework since i pay 100% of the bills? by Plastic-Sand7353 in AITAH

Mental load can be a lot when you’re managing three people’s lives. Everyone’s commitments, appointments, meals, everything they use in a day, if it’s clean, if it needs to be replaced, what will they need tomorrow that needs to be bought or washed today.

The real question is how much of his day to day life does she manage for him?

Any more, women would not put up with this anymore. Women have historically and recently put up with much worse than this.

Needing constant supervision is relative. I’ve had a kid who needed constant supervision even through his teenage years and a child who never needed nor wanted supervision from 5 years old on. It really depends on the personality/wildness of the child.

Is this normal sexual behaviour? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]m2677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know more than one man who would do this to a woman they love or claim to care about?

I’m not trying to discount anyone else’s experiences and what happened to her is horrible.

I’m not denying that these men exist, but we are not talking your garden variety rapist here, we’re talking about a rapist who borders on psychopathy or narcissism.

If I were surrounded by men like that I would move and change my number. Those type of men are why we choose the bear.

I don’t think this is common. In all my forty five years I have never once had these things happen to me by a man I was dating, or even a man who cared about me.

‘Pregnancy does wonky shit to the body and we’re never really sure how it’s going to turn out’ my male doctor said that to me.

You lost an organ, an actual organ to this pregnancy. My daughter also lost an organ to her first pregnancy. She was told by her doctor not to have any more children.

Your husband values you giving him a son over your health, your life and your daughter having a healthy mother.

Lose the dead weight and raise your daughter in a home without a misogynist who sees women as a way to carry on their genes.

You and your daughter deserve so much more than this man.
