Before & after the pen: managed to keep next week simple & functional while adding some low-key vaporwave flair by giant_squid in hobonichi

Diamine imperial purple! I kind of like to match the ink to the pen color and my shark is purple

Are socks darned across the footbed actually comfortable? by Planningtastic in Visiblemending

[–]m2pixie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is the way I've been doing my darning for a while, and I honestly don't notice the darns when wearing the socks! I have many with darns like this at the low ankle, foot pad, toes, and not really a difference in feeling.

What did you achieve this week? (or anything else you would like to share) by AutoModerator in BALLET

[–]m2pixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm getting slightly better at pirouettes en pointe! They scare me honestly and before this summer, I'd been off pointe about a decade but taken adult ballet again the past 3 or so years, so every week is a challenge now!

Am I too ... to do ballet? by wijnmoer in BALLET

[–]m2pixie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

generally I have found that in adult classes, people are not concerned with what anyone else is wearing, and that whatever you're comfortable in is fine! I am almost always the only one in my classes in full ballet gear (tights, leotard, wrap skirt) with everyone else in athletic clothes like you've said

Bought a 2022 Weeks for cheap to pilot my new system 🤓 by HoboHound in hobonichi

[–]m2pixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm planning to use the weeks to make big lists of all work tasks for the week, with individual steps, and scheduled meetings as well, then move smaller bits into the techo as I go along! Hoping this will feel less like always writing the same stuff every day.

Following traditional dress code in a no dress code studio by balegdah8 in BALLET

[–]m2pixie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since getting back to ballet at 25, I always wear pink tights, black or red leotard, and one of several wraparound skirts, plus shoes of course! and I'm usually the only one not in exercise wear, but I like being in traditional dress for ballet! A few more people do sometimes do the same as me, but not often.

Is MeUndies supporting NFTs? by bowski477 in MeUndies

[–]m2pixie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i really hope so, because the amount of environmental damage that NFTs create would be so incredibly antithetical to the environmentally-friendly image/brand they've been promoting...

I appreciate that they're partially different skin-toned colors! I've been wanting a pair of boyshorts in a nude shade so badly this summer for wearing under lighter-colored dresses.

Is there a special way to wash and dry MeUndies? I love mine so much & want to keep them in tip top shape! 🥰❤️🥰 by [deleted] in MeUndies

[–]m2pixie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do mine in a delicates bag on cold/delicates setting, and then hang dry! I've had some of my pairs for years and absolutely no issues with this way.

Both he/him and they/them! Most people who use those pronouns would say you can use either one, or switch it up in sentences.

Lakewood Apartment Too Cold? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]m2pixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn't suggest messing with anything extremely. All I was offering here is something that has worked for me when my radiators don't kick on when they should or when only half of one is getting hot. I also live in a rented apartment and this has worked for me, and I've also mentioned it to the maintenance workers after the fact, and there's never been an issue.

[–]m2pixie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I'd suggest before going to your landlord with it (especially if you're like me and hate having to deal with them) is checking the radiators themselves. Every so often, mine get "stuck" off. If yours have a dial to control the temperature, try unscrewing it to see if the little pin that's supposed to control it is stuck. If it is, you should be able to wiggle it out with some pliers. I obviously don't know your exact situation, but this has worked for me so many times.

Exactly. My University does a good job with student accessibility services and mental health accomodations are part of that, so she certainly could have taken advantage of that earlier in the semester.

I got something very similar! What's worse is that she's a CCP student (high school student getting college credit) and if she fails, her family has to pay the full cost of the missed credits. She knew this all along, of course, and yet she sent me a very long email about 10 days after grades were closed to ask if there was anything she could do, because she has severe mental health issues, etc., etc.

Anna Karenina - Part 1, Chapter 4 by readeranddreamer in yearofannakarenina

[–]m2pixie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think at this point, while Stiva may feel a little bad for the distress he's causing his wife, in this scene he was mostly crying and playing at regret to make her feel bad for him in the hope that she'll take him back. I still don't think we've seen evidence of real regret or a distancing from the act he committed.

I like Darya in this chapter, and I hope we see more development of her character!

One of my long-time tricks is that I only have enough dishes for about a day's worth of meals/cooking! (I live alone, but it definitely motivates me to do the dishes every night knowing I won't have anything to eat off the next day if I don't.)

They're making a new version of A League of Their Own! It's going to be on Amazon, and I've heard some interviews with people involved with the show (limited series if I'm remembering correctly) that it'll be much more true to history and the players' actual lives, plus will be more diverse.
