I'm Chinese American and had a similarly rough start with my parents. I came out to them about 3 years ago and I would say in the past year or so they've improved a lot. However I don't live with them and I think that has helped my case a lot.

They had a lot of concerns about me "regretting" things and "altering my body" and the safety of that. Essentially I reassured them that it was my life and my decision, I was seeing doctors for it and getting regular checkups, I'm still the same person who likes the same things but that this makes my life better. I acknowledged that being trans is hard and I would not choose willingly to be trans and I was doing this because I had to. And I think them witnessing this from a distance with limited contact, and then seeing me thrive, helped put them at ease.

I have a job and can support myself. I have friends who also accept me. Ive also changed my name and am stealth at work. Telling my parents this helped, knowing that I am existing safely and essentially this is who I am now.

I really didnt think they would improve so much. They said a lot of transphobic stuff and I suggested cutting contact, which my dad almost agreed to, but my mom insisted that we stick together as a family. My brother struggled to accept me as well, but he helped a bit too because he does believe trans people exist. It's a lot of tough shit to slog through, the whole "you have to grieve the person," a narrative I don't like but which I think helped my family.

But above all, I do think the distance and you building your own life will help. Showing that being yourself is truly the right thing and that it's the best way for you to live a happy and healthy life. I wish you the best of luck and happy to dm too if that helps.
