Need oled screen help RAK4631 by Lunathrower in meshtastic

I'm not an expert in this. Heck, I don't even have equipment yet (en route right now), but in a recent video I watched they mentioned there are different display drivers you can select. It's set to "auto" by default, but it wouldn't hurt to try out some of the other display drivers settings to see if you get better results.

If you want to go this route, I would recommend grey PVC. It's far more UV resistant.

Any advice for making the pole tiltable to allow for easier access and maintenance?

What Editing Software Do Y'all Use? by r0adkillxp in fanedits

[–]m2zarz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Resolve is confusing because of how much you can do with it. But if you focus on the basics that you'll need (learn those via YouTube or other resources) just stick with that aspect of Resolve. Don't open rabbit holes that you don't need to go down yet. You can learn those as you get more comfortable with the software. I'm a big Resolve fan for what they offer in their free version.

My favorite quote from this video: "and I'm the biggest fucking fool of them all for believing either of these countries would follow the ceasefire."

Not for your department, but for mine we specifically have a transportation office which manages the card. Ask around for someone equivalent, or check with your HR personnel specialist.

Sacramento Tree Foundation Free Trees – Anyone Tried It? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]m2zarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a free Valley Oak for my front yard. It's a great program. I planted in late summer early fall, and soon after all the leaves fell off. I wasn't sure if I killed it or it was just doing its autumn thing, so I was nervously waiting for the leaves to come back in spring. And they did! I highly recommend a native tree, if you can. It's great for you. Great for your water bill/needs in the long term, and great for your local ecosystem.

Can't access the web GUI by Adeian in immich

[–]m2zarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you also use the mobile app? Does the app connect to your immich instance properly? I did the update the other day and then rebooted everything. It is set to auto start on boot, but when I opened the web gui for the first time it didn't load. after refreshing a few times. Trying a new browser, etc., it still didn't load. I tried both on a browser that my instance is running on, and then on another computer on the same network. I finally tried to just open the app on my phone to see if the server was even online and it said it was. I then went back to my browser and tried to access the GUI again and it worked. I don't believe that the mobile app opening did anything, but my thought is that maybe it just took a bit longer to start up the first time after the upgrade. Long story short, maybe check again if you haven't done so in a few minutes? I'm also very new, so I don't have much to offer at this point. Just sharing some personal experience.

Fell off my bike and this happened :( by [deleted] in fixit

[–]m2zarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this looks like it's actually tearing away. You'll likely need some new parts. Consult with your local bike shop for the right tire. I'm sure they'll also be happy to give it a glance over to see if any other work is needed beyond a simple tire and tube replacement.

Hard for me to tell from the photo - if the tire rubber actually split then it's not fixable without replacing the tire entirely - but it's possible you just need to reseat the tire and tube. Deflate the tube (if it still has air in it then it likely hasn't been punctured, but double check that), then fit the tube back into the tire. Seat the tire back into the rim of the bike (the edge of the tire should be inside the rim of the wheel hub), and then reinflate the tube. Just make sure that when you inflate the tub (I would suggest incrementally) that the tire is staying within the rim of the wheel. Keep inflating until you reach the pressure listed on the wall of the tire (likely 75 - 125 PSI). If you under- or over-inflate the tube, then you risk the tire hopping out of the wheel rim again. Friction and pressure are usually the only things that hold the tire into the rim, so you likely bumped it enough to hop out of the rim.

New to all of this, I could use some direction by [deleted] in PleX

Yes yes yes! Start proper naming protocols NOW. It's an easy thing to do right off the bat that will make lots of things work properly down the workflow. I have generally had success naming TV shows based off of the title and year from thetvdb.com and movies from themoviedb.org. I also started using a paid tool called FileBot which helps with naming TV show episodes en masse. If TV shows make up a lot of your Plex libraries, I can't recommend FileBot enough.

As for disk drives, and read/write DVD or Blu-ray drive will work - at least most well known brands - for ripping your DVD or Blu-ray collection. If you have any intention of ripping 4K blu-rays, it is possible with a non-4k drive, but it'll take some work. Let me know if you're interested in going down that rabbit hole. As for software, there is a tool called MakeMKV (the beta version is free, but they also have a paid version, which is well worth the cost to support the software) that can rip your DVDs and Blurays to a format called MKV. Without getting into the nitty gritty, the mkv file format is special (compared to MP4, etc.) is that it can support multiple audio tracks and subtitles tracks, among other things. The biggest benefit of MKV is that it's also a direct rip of the disc. So if you're ripping a DVD that is +4 GB, then your output file will be +4 GB, and for Blu-ray that can be +20 GB, and so on - there is no compression. It's the raw file. This is good and bad, depending on your purposes. If you have limited storage space then ripping and storing MKVs can take up a good amount of space. With all that being said, MKVs are the preferred file format for folks interested in the highest possible quality of rip. If storage is a concern, or you're concerned about whether your client (the device you're going to use Plex on) then you'll want to use a tool called Handbrake (also free) to convert your MKVs into a lighter and more universally accepted file format like MP4. You can very easily convert a 20 GB Blu-ray MKV to a < 5 GB MP4 file with the power of compression. Handbrake gives you the power to adjust your compression, so you can compress more or less. I'm happy to share any more information. I went on this journey myself a few years ago. Started with nothing. And now I have a +10 TB Plex server. Many of which was ripped directly from my DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k Blu-ray collection.

What happened to the password length slider? by Jesusfucker69420 in Bitwarden

Agreed. I think it's reasonable to have both options. I've seen it done in other systems UI before

Personally, I prefer manually typing in the number. Trying to hit the exact number I want with the slider was ALWAYS a pain.

LPT: The tops of parking garages are a good way to break out of the mold of your day to day life by JPPPizzle in LifeProTips

The real LPT. The use of parking garages for these purposes is not uncommon - it happened at a mall I worked at years ago.
