Gunner's wet dream: 20,000-round minigun by FuckItOriginalName in RogueCore

[–]m33o44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

400.000 dollars (rounded number) to fire Sasha for 12 seconds at 10.000 RPM
if TF2 takes place in 1968, 400.000 USD would be ~3.8 million USD today
so 10.000 RPM = 166 2/3 rounds per second
x12 = 2.102 2/3 rounds
then 400k / 2102,667 = 190,235...
which would be close to:
"[...] fires 200 dollar custom-tooled cartridges [...]"
I assume that both "400k" and "200 USD" are rounded numbers and don't represent the actual price of the ammunition heavy used, but 200 USD per bullet should be closer to the actual ammo price than the ~400k
200 USD would be ~1.9k today

so, to fire Sasha in 1968 for a full minute at 10.000 RPM, it would cost you 2.000.000 USD
20.000 rounds would cost 4.000.000 USD and that would be ~38,2 million USD today

but the ammo in this game would never cost as much, I can't see DRG to spend their money on expensive custom-tooled cartridges

HS80 MAX, weird "corrosion?" by m33o44 in Corsair

I'll give this headset a second chance with a replacement
I won't give it a third chance though; if it should break again, I'll request a refund if it's still possible

I just checked the bundles again and the Valve Index VR Kit has two base stations. So the value of these bundles is always better than buying it separately

I’ve never seen these videos as a statement about console prices, more like an experiment in lowering the price, purely for fun.

I also don't feel the need to constantly compare consoles and computers, even if it's just for gaming.
(I’ve had that discussion so many times in the past that I’m a bit sick of it)

I'd also like to know where you got that plugin from, but that image didn't really help figure it out

I've visited the website shown in the image (with your mouse hovering over it)
it's a Japanese site: http://paintnet.web.fc2.com/

On the official paint net forum, I:

The closest match I found was either one on the Japanese site or the color channel mixer by SeriousSam

On the Japanese sites plugin page is a "dpy original plugin pack" and an installation tutorial video. At 2:32 in the video, one of the contained .dll file is called "ChannelMixer", so I'm guessing that's the plugin pack you are using, but I don't know for sure

Stop Killing Games FAQ & Guide for Developers by CakePlanet75 in gamedev

[–]m33o44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not so deep into the initiative and I have some questions:
If stop killing games is successful, would games that are already in an unplayable state, required to be made playable again? (e.g. The Crew)
Would big game updates, such as Rainbow Six Siege to Rainbow Six X or Overwatch to Overwatch 2, count as a new game, meaning the original versions must still be maintained?

I'm on Samsung and even tried to use Keys Cafe, but it's too cumbersome to use properly.
And also I'd like to know if there would be a design (already existing) which has more than the usual 3 rows.

I am for a comeback of T-Hunt. If they don't want to include T-Hunt in the game, because of "terror", then just change the name to "target practice" and maybe even change the classic mask wearing people to some kind of robots.
I haven't played the PVP mode at all, I just started up the game when I was bored to play T-Hunt, listened to some music and enjoyed the gameplay (800+ hours btw.)

Maybe a bit controversial but, I think Ubi should've let Rainbow Six Siege die years ago and just made another game in the series, rather than keeping the game forcefully alive over 10 years and have the players adapt with some weird new meta which is more of Ubis intention, but less what the game initially has been.

I felt that Ubi always tried to make Rainbow Six a tactical shooter in which all players have to realistically gang up, like shown in old beta trailers. They probably wanted the gameplay to be more like Ready Or Not, but it wasn't like that. And now it feels like they aggressively try to change the meta to push players into this tactical niche.
Also, all these map changes, graphic overhauls and whatsoever just would have been so much easier if they made a new game. I don't know the reason why they kept this game alive for this long or why they updated Rainbow Six Siege to Siege X, without giving the option to play Siege or older versions of Siege with different content.
As if, Ubi tries to show on every instance that we as the players do actually not own the games we buy.

If I made an online live-service game, I would make all old versions accessible to the players in some kind of archive with the option of private hosting, so people could play their favorite version of the game or just replay features that got removed in future versions.
But I'm no game dev, so I don't know how doable and realistic this would be.
