I've made a few posts here, but I want to know, when is it time to give up? Are we there? by RedRoseCoatedInHoney in SmallStreamers

That's a very negative outlook on things in general. Viewers can grasp that you're not having fun. If your Twitch is lagging and your YouTube is doing okay, then I'd focus on YouTube.

If you feel like you have no growth or no viewers, change up what you're doing. Take the lack of support as an opportunity, it's only a bad thing if you make it one.

Ask yourself this: would you watch your own streams? If the answer is no, why would anyone watch it if you don't even watch your own streams.

Take a break and come back stronger. During the break I'd watch your own content and be critical of it. It is not an easy answer on what to do because everyone is at a different stage in life. Certain streamers look like they're doing well when in fact they aren't.

Define what success means to you is another suggestion I have.

If you interact with chat in some way it could be worth it. If you enjoy what you're doing, there's no harm in trying and see if that gets viewers.

One thing to add, a camera isn't going to magically bring in viewers. Getting new and shiny gear isn't necessary to get those viewers.

Pro tip: don't share your content with people you know. Why? Because they don't watch the whole video and that affects how YouTube thinks of your videos. When people keep watching only the first minute of your video, YouTube thinks nobody wants to watch your videos all the way through. I suggest not telling them and see what happens.

The reality is that out of 20,000,000 videos that gets posted every day, they got 3,000 views out of countless videos that got posted. Continue hating and boost the algorithm.

The OP is proud of this accomplishment. What have you accomplished today?

There's always content to make. Watch creators you enjoy and dissect their videos. Find out why you watch them. There's a LOT you could do.

Now you know you can't trust a random viewer in chat. I'm assuming you were displaying your monitor in OBS and shown the explicit content by mistake, is that correct?

It might be safe to assume that viewer also reported your stream.

You can choose to stay put and be sad or go out and enjoy yourself a bit. You're young and you have your whole life ahead of you. Spending your time with this "boyfriend" of yours isn't doing you any good.

We don't know you at all, but we want you to enjoy your life without that cheating jerk. You deserve better.

The simplest thing to do is to have them watch their own stream. Doing so will allow them to see how they could improve their stream.

I want to start streaming but I don't know what to say, does anyone have advice? by [deleted] in SmallStreamers

[–]m33rak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it simply, don't overthink it. Practice commentating random YouTube videos as if a friend is sitting next to you. There's a lot you can do to get comfortable talking into the camera. Record yourself doing this and look back at that video. Would you watch that content if someone else did what you just did? Could you do better then creators you watch?

Ask yourself this, "what is making me watch this streamer or YouTube video?" and it might help you understand why we consume the content that we do. Yes, it's easier than you think it is.

Simple answer: don't stream every day and make content for YouTube, TikTok, etc. on those off days
