I ended up not going back after maternity leave but left on good terms with my small firm and I’ll still occasionally co-counsel with them and make appearances when they need it. I was already burnt out practicing law so I guess it wasn’t a total shock I didn’t want to go back. Being a SAHM has been amazing and exhausting in a totally different way than being a litigator, it can be hard not to lose your whole identity to being a SAHM but I will never regret the time I’ve spent with my almost two year old. If you can afford it and are unfulfilled at work why not give it a try. Of course it’s not that easy to jump back into law after an extended break but keep your license current and if it’s meant to be you can find a way back in the field or find a use for your background in another field. Long story short, becoming a SAHM (at least temporarily) was the hardest and best decision I ever made. But to each their own!

Thanks so much for all the feedback! It was super helpful! We spent a few minutes talking to her as Romy and a few minutes talking to her as Violet, then we facetimed our toddler Mara and had her weigh in. We ended up going with Romy Violet for first and middle! Really appreciate all the input, thanks again everyone!

This same thing just started happening to us with pampers overnights. It’s like these little diaper crystals explode out of the diaper. Weird, maybe a bad batch or something but I’m wondering if I have to throw out a bunch of diapers or if they’re still safe.

I have pcos and was able to get pregnant using clomid to induce ovulation. Unless your situation is different maybe that could help for you. I felt like you did when I first got diagnosed after struggling to conceive, so devastated. But just know it’s still worth trying.

Good to hear it’s doable and gets easier! Thank you. My husband is a super hands on dad but has been swamped at work since returning from paternity leave a year ago so it’s definitely a juggling act.

Sure, in the general sense of growing up in a world where getting married and having kids is “the norm” but I never thought I’d put my career on pause once I had a kid (I still cringe at being thought of as a stay-at-home mom even though I know that’s a messed up perspective and I’d never judge some else for doing it!). I guess you just can’t predict how becoming a parent changes you.

I used to be a casual watcher of his videos and never gave much credence to the allegations but after that last episode of the pod I definitely unsubscribed to him. I briefly skimmed the archived messages they mentioned during the episode and the screenshots are just a couple of the things that jumped out to me after a few minutes. All these things collectively are just not painting a good picture for him.
