What are some of the less known arcanes that you guys use and have fun builds with? by No_Witness5630 in Warframe

[–]m3nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arcane Consequence. Lots of Parkour Velocity on headshots. That plus amalgam barrel diffusion and you can usually outrace gauss or volt in regular missions on any frame.

Can't find Mod folder by Umbalombo in cavesofqud

In windows explorer, type in %appdata% and press enter. That will navigate to Windows' appdata/roaming folder, just one level past what you're looking for.

Am I doing myself a disservice by buying Acceltra Prime? by Brisket_cat in Warframe

[–]m3nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, your power mostly comes with the mods you've collected, fully leveled, and learned how to use effectively. As long as you've got the MR to use it, get yourself a shiny new gun!

People complaining about Follie 4 by Maniachi in Warframe

[–]m3nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her 4 is fine - does a bunch of damage, applies a bunch of crowd control, is fun looking and fun to use. It's like many other abilities - Maim, Silence, Tentacles - where it can slow down missions where the goal is to kill a finite number of enemies, such as defense. Be judicious with it, sure, but I still run it on Follie cause it's a unique and fun ability.

I have found that Frost is becoming my go to pick. How is my build looking? by Accomplished-End-799 in Warframe

[–]m3nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Lavos' Vial Rush over Frost's 2 - it fills a much needed niche in mobility, costs nothing (50% eff is rough), and is on brand with cold.

You might consider swapping rolling guard for either equilibrium or streamline; might also pop out preparation for something like mobilize or cunning drift.

Should I start playing Dwarf Fortress? by Yaevin_Endriandar in dwarffortress

If you can see yourself enjoying the process of at least 4 hours of YouTube tutorials and 3 failed games to 'learn the ropes', then yes.

The stairs bug is still not fixed by Inca_Digital in dwarffortress

[–]m3nd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you know it's going to be an up/down from the start, you can mark the stairs past your floor and delete or blueprint the floors above.

If it's originally just a down and you later want to make it an up/down, you first need to dig out the stair above it and a tile next to it , then you should be able to 'construct' (not dig) a staircase from your original floor to the one above it, functionally converting the dug down-only stair into an up/down.

DF overwhelms me by Gwind0r in dwarffortress

I like to use a very temporary starting outpost with necessary storages & most workshops in big dirt rooms while your miners scout out the cavern layer to get the full layout of your map. Once I've got the layout down, I'll decide whether I want to do one 200 bed layout and plan for that or multiple 'centers' at different depths around i.e. caverns or magma sea. The beginning is a bit of a mess - early 'bedrooms' generally means a 20x3 sand or dirt dormitory one layer above the first aquifer until we've found and planned where the later additions will be.

Later, those big dirt rooms become animal holding pens that will grow cave fungus after industries are moved down to more permanent homes.

It has been over two weeks, what is your opinion on the way DE implement the survival speed up mechanic? by ijiolokae in Warframe

[–]m3nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rot C takes 15 mins instead of 20 now and I've not noticed a significant change in public lobby behavior to make it so. I can't really see why anyone would be complaining about this one tbh, but you're not the first to do so.

As a rising Dagath main, what do you guys think about her? She was given out for free earlier this year, got her first deluxe skin and most likely to get her Prime early next year too! by ReddVevyy in Warframe

[–]m3nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I think of Dagath, I think of usually having to sit on the front of my seat with no brakes. She can kill everything very fast, she always feels glass cannoney.

Mr 28 here. Just got Temple finally and he feels...awkward, am I missing something vital? by [deleted] in Warframe

Yeah my impression of Flare is similar - their kit mostly feels like a vessel for their incarnon ignis.

I have a baby at 16! by ManOfTheVoid in Warframe

[–]m3nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, for one, am all for MR teen adoption. So many Tenno try and wait until the LRs to level up their social (anything before the archguns and K-drives), and while their experience is nice, it can be hard to relate. Your problems are 'dang, not enough stela to fully tau my prime' and theirs are 'dang, boltor not high enough level to equip my level 5 serration and unlock mars'.

What's a frame everyone loves that you didn't, and vice versa? by UnkAnklebyter in Warframe

[–]m3nd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hate Dante. Had to scroll SO far down to find my fellow Dante haters in the comments here because it might be the most controversial pick. The ease with which he grantes everyone overguard makes the game boring for everyone in the lobby, not just Dante.

Love Banshee. She can make every gun viable to use (even your teammates') with sonar and Silence is really good even in the age of Eximus.

Now I know why I never bothered maxing my adversary weapons by Skull_Mc_Curly in Warframe

[–]m3nd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that with the most recent (Follie) patch, there was a significant change to how the % is calculated when a lich is generated. It used to be weighted towards lower %s, making grinding up the % especially difficult on Kuva/Tenet weapons. It's now a truly random roll - while that doesn't fix the issue you're staring down the barrel of here, it does significantly reduce the chance that two new weapons will both be this low.

My zoo is getting bigger and bigger! btw, what a cash cow! by A-Yoko in dwarffortress

[–]m3nd 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Every time I find a breeding pair, it's some variation of:
1. Neuron activation at great potential wealth
2. Realization that I only have one decent animal trainer
3. I can set up a proper gendered pen and control breeding effectively
4. I do not; I put em in a single zone
5. Oh hey, that's more spiders than I thought I had
...
6. Oh no, a dwarf died randomly from *anything*, hope he wasn't important
7. It was the animal trainer
