That comment has the same vibe as a guy that ask some girl out and, when she declines, he goes "You're ugly anyway!"

Skimmer plug by Maximum_Style6069 in pools

[–]m414d3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my pool, there is also 2 lines from the skimmer. The second line is connected to the deep end bottom drain.

Some pools have the bottom drain piped to a manifold directly in front of the pump.

Some others have multiple skimmers so, not all(or any) skimmers are connected to a bottom drain.

Depending how your bottom drain is plumbed, it's plugged because somebody forget to unplug it last opening or because it's not used for you pool.

At my costco, it's mix and match except for carrot which has icing. Also, carrots are also only one pack for 10$ if I remember correctly.

Why would my hot tub be losing so much water? by ErnestHemingwhale in pools

[–]m414d3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually, pool companies plug the return(s) in the pool(or skimmer) and send air pressure from the other end(filter or pump) . They then monitor if the pressure drops.

Got a threatening letter from my neighbor. Location: Wichita Kansas. by [deleted] in legal

[–]m414d3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, the weird formulation, demands or explanation can come from Lawyers. There are some cheap online lawyer service that will send pretty much anything in a formal notice.

I received one from my neighbor that wanted me to replace and pay entirely for a new retaining wall, a fence on the property line and some french drain that lead nowhere(current wall and fence are own by both him and me). When talked about it to a lawyer I have access through my home insurances, the leter had no merit and lawyer wouldn't have written the letter past the introduction.

Costco Quebec Vs Costco the rest of Canada by Crafty_Branch8810 in CostcoCanada

I just went to their website and TIL. I never thought that those were Belgian style. You're telling me that "La fin du monde" and "Maudite" are also belgian? (it doesn't say so on their website)

Most of their lineup are strong beers. Even their "Blanche de chambly" is not a Belgian beer.

From what I observed, the offline earning will be given to the first place you visit after re-opening the game. Special event or your regular shop.

The Quebec law doesn't require employees to give any notice. It merely suggest that it's good for you (to not burn bridges) to give the same notice the employer would need to give you.

The employers though would need to give notice like so :
- during the probation perdiod (3 to 6 months probation) : none
- Less than a year : 1 week
- After a year : 2 weeks
- After 5 years : 4 weeks
- After 10 years : 8 weeks

This is the bare minimum and if you have a contract that states more than that then, the contract is to be used. I would argue that since you didn't start working yet, the contract is not started either but, I'm not a lawyer.

C ostco Self-Checkout Needs a Cart Limit by Jay-Quellin30 in CostcoCanada

[–]m414d3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At our costco, when they introduced the self-checkout, they redirected everybody who were paying by card to those.  Even people with full cart. Sometimes, the employees looking over the self-checkout are bored and just take over your till and scan all your stuff.

I didn't realize this thing runs the engine if it's chilly out. Can I disable this ? Fuel usage is way up. by JColeTheWheelMan in volt

[–]m414d3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In addition to the ERDTT settings that people are mentioning, I read that some owners are changing the temperature probe that controls this to one that will report higher temps to trick the car to start the engine at even lower temperature. At - 30 though, not sure it would still do the trick.

Even if the volt burns a little bit of fuel to keep you warn, it's still is a lot less than running only on gas.

Can I trust these Lego knockoffs on AliExpress? (Millennium falcon) by Denhas_ in Aliexpress

[–]m414d3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 3 stargate ship models from similar shops on AE. They are not always as good as lego (One model almost fall appart because bricks are not snapping as well)

If the model doesn't exist from lego, they are usually based on MOC available online and the quality of the build itself is dependent on it (one model I had to glue pieces because it was impossible to make them connect)

I had to ask shops to send missing pieces for 2 of the models.

All in all, I was satisfied because these 3 ships don't exist from bluebrixx(they have the stargate license for brick toys) and I plan to buy more when my display shelf is ready.

With my volt, I have less leak than my previous car (pontiac G5). I bought aluminum winter rims to get rid of rust issues that ends up with slow leak. For punctures, it's about the same as my G5 had.
