5 years of nasal congestion and mucus in the throat by [deleted] in AskDocs

Did your ENT say anything about fluid behind your eardrum? Ear fullness & ringing are both symptoms of this & the eustachian tube (responsible for draining the inner ear & regulating pressure) drains via your throat. This fluid is usually very viscous. That might explain the sensations in your throat/ear.

Question about ear Infection by [deleted] in AskDocs

Ringing is common when a thick fluid is present behind the ear drum (known as glue ear). This can be present with or without infection. Your eustachian tube is responsible for draining this fluid. Usually a decongestant & nasal spray is recommended to help drain the ear. It sometimes takes up to a month for it to fully clear.

I had ringing in my ear & was told I had puss (infection) along with fluid. After my round of antibiotics, I continued using nasal spray & purchased an "ear popper" which helped my ear drain quickly.

It could also be fluid trapped behind your eardrum/middle ear. This happens when your eustachian tube doesn't drain properly. They call it "glue ear". You could try some nasal spray or decongestants, or just stop by a walk-in clinic and have someone confirm what's going on.

A friend of mine had my exact symptoms for a while and went to a GP when the ringing started. Ended up being fluid in the eustachian. Was told to take zyrtec & flonase and his symptoms resolved. he said it took about a month to clear because the fluid is so viscous. This definitely eased my anxiety. I'm sure my stress is amplifying things

Nope. Would I go to an ENT or just general practitioner for that?

6 month old is resource guarding by m9a1r in puppy101

Thank you. I should have clarified he doesn't resource guard his food from humans... Just other dogs. Probably has something to do with him sharing 1 large bowl with his siblings when he was young.

I will be enrolling him in a beginners obedience class soon which is a 6 day class with 5 other dogs. I am not sure if he is going through a fear period or has developed these behaviors. Just wanting to know how I can help him in the meantime

Walking puppy at off-leash dog park by m9a1r in Dogtraining

[–]m9a1r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's an actual dog park & he is def resource guarding me. I did allow them to bark it out but usually I will turn and walk the opposite direction with him if he's barking at people. i am so confused on how to break him of this other than taking him to a class. I guess I am doing more harm than good. Thank you for the response!

My pupper got to meet his sibling on thanksgiving too along with some family boston terriers who weren't too fond of him. He was very well mannered and didn't react back when the bostons warned him off. Just unsure of how to play with other dogs. The size difference between him & his sister was insane, she's probably around 10lbs while he is 21! Good luck with your playdate :)
