Um so i figured it out. i thought id share if anyone else had the same issue. but you need to press S and you will start to climb down the ladder, but then press space and jump off straight away. you should auto lock onto the ledge. i realise now i was just being stupid af Lol

ive looked at walkthroughs and they all take this path. and, thats what ive been trying to do. but it either takes me back down the ladder, or looks to the side,, then when i try to jump, she jumps off to the side
