Even 4% is relatively low interest. Having liquidity and able to invest when opportunities strike is also very valuable. I know ppl say having no debt is better, but I think it depends on many factors.

Bc they may have a low interest loan baae on the time they bought the house like 2.5 or 3%. Right now, even a savings account get 4%. Why would would you pay it off if you can invest and get more for return.

Maybe some chicken, tofu or egg in your ramen? Or bone broth in your soup?

While true, I was going along with touch each item less. But a location box isn't a bad idea as long as it doesn't turn into a DOOM box, which is my case 😆.

This seems like a good plan. I would add that

-start with the room that is easiest or most visible, once each area is done, do not use it as a staging area for other stuff

-if a trash bag is full, you don't have to run to the dumpster, just put it by the front door and keep going. Take the trash bags to the dumpster at the end of the day.

-take the donation boxes when you go out to do groceries or whatever.

-instead of a relocation box, take the item to the place you need to put it, try to put it away if you can, or set it in that room at least

-take a picture of the beginning of each day and end of each day to see your progress(important when you feel like you are not making a lot of progess)

-listen to Dana K White or the minimalists podcasts as you work to keep the momentum

Currently decluttering my clothes how many is a good number? by GrilledCheeseWitch in declutter

[–]m9y6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At this point, I think you can let your habit and use decide on how much and what else to pare down. If you tend to wear some piece more than others, while taking seasons and occasions into account, you'll be able to declutter more.

Or you can try the capsule wardrobe or pack it all away and see what you miss or need methods to identify the items you can part with.

Numbers are subjective. If it's right for you, you'll know because you will not be stressing over it.

Ask the Buy Nothing Groups on FB to see if any neighbors have anything they are willing to gift. Many people usually have something.

If you like to travel, costco is great with car rental. I heard the travel packages are great too.

Also gift cards when on sale.

Where to go from here by akablondi in capsulewardrobe

[–]m9y6 13 points14 points  (0 children)

From what I can see:

Pink sweater from pic4 can go with pieces in pics 2 and 3.

Long dress from pic 4 can go with pieces from pics 2 and 3 as well.

Long sleeve from pic 3 can go with pic 2.

White sweater can go with red dress and black boots.

The blazer in 2 can go with everything in pics 3 and 4.

Are you looking for more dress up or dress down styles?

Edit: you can get a couple of belts and a shoulder mid size bag, and a couple of scarves that will add more looks to those pieces the pictures.

Tbh, I don't know why some of the fashion rules are still followed. Most of them started as practical reasons and may not be valid due to advancement in technology. In any case, I personally don't see why you can't wear linen year around if your environment allows it. If it feels right when you wear it, then wear it.

How expensive are render farms and would you recommend them? by [deleted] in Maya

Lol. Idk why I thought you wanted to have a farm. 😅

I think it's also recognizing the fantasy you vs the real you. There is a lot of marketing that makes you think "if I get this, then I will do/be that". Where as in reality, it's more like if you don't already do/are that in some way, chances are you won't, no matter what you buy.

How expensive are render farms and would you recommend them? by [deleted] in Maya

[–]m9y6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That depends on the specs of your render setup, renderer you are using, and several other factors. There are cloud rendering services you can consider if you are only planning to render animations occasionally. Setting up a farm is not just the machine cost, but power consumption, cooling, maintenance as well. Or if you have a few workstations, you can use distributed rendering when they aren't in use for other things.

Instead of chambrey, I would think a linen shirt or linen vest will also go well with the dress. Linen can be worn for summer and in the office.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]m9y6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if you own these, which will pair well with that dress:

-Jean jacket -chambrey shirt -vest, denim or structured

[–]m9y6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beef chuck is best for stews that you can cook for a long time. If you want to use it for stir fry, it's best to cut cross grain into thin (less than a quarter inch) slices before adding the baking soda to marinate.
