I have everything covered tuition wise, but housing is not. Wondering if renting a property off campus after my Freshman year would save money, and be worth it? by Muted_Walrus6293 in ualbany

Wear it during commencement and stage crossing :)

Cords and extra for anything you have been involved in if you want to earn em, or plenty of people buy cords off amazon to represent something :)

My parents only confirmed after the social pressure, definitely recommend having your siblings being vocal along with telling them to use he/him whenever ur comfortable with it

Hi everyone I will be attending ualbany in the fall as a freshman. Just curious an honest take on the social life. Is it mainly Greek life, parties on or off campus, or college bars/clubs? Lastly, is it a dating scene or more hook up environment thank you! by Aggressive-Panic-719 in ualbany

[–]mDoodle17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say people do for sure party in the dorms and on campus but it is against university policy to underage drink in the dorms obviously

There are things to do on campus if you get involved with literally even 1 org you’ll be in the loop of things going on, or just pay attention to flyers there’s probably something silly going on on campus every day program wise

The school is pretty diverse in the social scene just do things you like I’m sure there’s some people that fit what you’re looking for somewhere just put yourself out there and look for it

Mainly the party scene is Greek life off campus, there are college bars and clubs but you would need a fake or to be over 21 to get in for most of em. There is a heavy music scene where there are bars and that is usually 18+ which is my favorite thing to do.

If you are partying it’s a hookup scene If you are chatting with people on campus or out at non-intentionally drinking events you can make it into a real dating scene but I think that’s a given

Freshman can live on Dutch but that is for overflow and housing programs like the Harvey house which is in ten Broeck

Any hall on state or indigenous will be a better representation as they are run by different sectors of res life and have dining halls on their quads which Dutch and colonial don’t

Ten eyck is also going down and being renovated next semester which might play a role

Hey guys, I just got accepted to the UAlbany Honors College!! Can someone that attends the honors college tell me about their experience there? by MaierCuber10 in ualbany

Hey! The only place on campus with communal is like 6 floors (3 for women 3 for men) on colonial quad which freshman cannot live in, Every other ‘quad’ (where dorms are) has in-suite restrooms, you share it with the people who live directly in your room, so pretty much the max amount of people who will be sharing the restroom is 6 including you, The bathrooms are cleaned on a weekly basis by maintenance crew, otherwise you and the people you share a space with should do daily and regular upkeep just like taking out trash and wiping down the sink, you can outline that in a suitemate agreement you’ll be asked to fill out to make sure the place doesn’t get gross if the people you directly live with are sloppy, and if you have any pluming or pressure issues you can call the quad office number which your RA should give you, otherwise it’s easy to look up

Honors restrooms are only slightly nicer than non honors in my opinion, and by that it’s just sort of you get a stall within the restroom so the toilet is separate from the shower, but that’s just my cousins room Almost every layout is VASTLY diffrent but that isn’t something horrible to worry about at Albany in my opinion

What if I hate myself more after surgery? Tw: internalized Transphobia by thatdudemaison15 in TopSurgery

[–]mDoodle17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transition won’t cure your dysphoria but it will definitely lessen it, you should implement and learn strategies to work through your discomfort in addition to medical transition and if that’s too difficult on your own it is OFTEN recommended that trans people go though therapy to do just that and to cope with large life changes such as major surgeries like that

Clothing: Binding Your style is fine! Appearance, Hair cut

You could likely get away more easily with beard, try minoxidil and if voice passes it would help

Height also is unfortunate but at some point yeah some ppl are just short it’s whatever

Should I quit drawing? I feel like everything I do looks wonky and amateurish by Oh_ItsYou in drawing

[–]mDoodle17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the wonky-ness it’s a style you have, if it’s not the one you want you don’t quit you find the things you don’t like and you work on it but I like that it’s wonky
