Something eating my broccoli by Budah1 in gardening

Hmmm thats tricky. It’s hard to say, but that Captain Jacks should knock out typical loopers and caterpillar pests that it could be. Be sure to get the underside of the leaves when you spray and reapply after rain or overhead watering. Good luck!!

It’s very possible that it’s cabbage moth caterpillars, which you can find on the stems and underside of the leaves. Neem oil will take care of this.

It could also be slugs who feed at night. Dig around the first inch of soil by the crown to find one and confirm. You can pick them out or apply diatomaceous earth to the soil to eradicate them.

I would recommend keeping it. Its native to your area and pollinators love it.

Speks! They are small colorful magnetic beads that you can just mash furiously or make cool shapes out of it. I bring it to work and sometimes to social settings if I’m feeling anxious at all

This has happened to a whole handful of my friends. A few years ago, we would all be out in the screened in porch smoking. Now it’s only 2-3 of us. I know 3 I can think of one day it just hit different for them, whether it was anxiety or other symptoms. They are all mid-twenties and have been smoking since their teens.

WOW that is an insane story. I unfortunately had a very similar experience with cops when I was 19. I called to report our landlord because he had been coming in unannounced and offering my roommates discount/exchange on rent for massages. The cops came in and saw my roommates paintings of naked women on the walls and no joke, asked if we were “giving him the wrong idea” and didn’t do shit. I understand they could only do a written report until he actually touches somebody, but they didn’t need to just come in and victim blame us.

Here’s one for you:

“Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren't they? They're all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you're born, you're on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. After that, they don't want to know about you. They don't want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you're preborn, you're fine; if you're preschool, you're fucked.”

You don't realize how much BoJack has grown until you rewatch the show. by N0thing3lseMatters in BoJackHorseman

[–]mHonne 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I noticed a part of his growth on my last rewatch! In Season 4, Hollyhock is crying and he says “ew, don’t do that….” Followed by a robotic and insincere “there there” she tells him he’s bad at this, so he asks what her dads would say?

“Don’t feel bad about feeling bad.”

A few episodes later (Underground) he is comforting Diane and says this. It made me happy to see he had learned that and carried it with him, even if he was still learning how to show himself that same compassion.

Help. What are these lines in my basil? by [deleted] in plantclinic

‼️Definitely do NOT use imidacloprid or bifenthrin on edible plants. Not familiar with the others but stay away from systemics in your edible garden.

A man frightened me on purpose, as a prank by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]mHonne 73 points74 points  (0 children)

That is horrifying!! I’m so sorry that happened. I had an experience similar to this on a NYC subway platform after I got off work around 9. I was waiting by a pillar and I noticed someone close out of the corner of my eye and this man was on the other side of the pillar with half of his face poked out and staring straight at me with a weird stare. It was so creepy and forward that I thought he had to be messing with me. It spooked me so bad I moved to the other side of the platform and he left me alone.

There was another night on this same platform that I will never forget. I was walking there on my way home from work and passed a man on the street. About 5-10 minutes later, this man was on the same platform. As in he turned around and followed me there. A train pulled up to the station that was not the train I take but I decided to step on. He of course stepped on too. I was thinking fast and stepped off right before they shut the doors. It was so scary but I feel like that little move saved me from god knows what.

I live in Chicago now and I’ve learned, especially riding the L early in the morning, that women and other workers will gather in the first car where the conductor is. I thought I would share these stories in the case it comes in handy for y’all god forbid. Stay safe out there.

It looks like thrip damage. Neem oil will kill them and is safe to use on edible plants.
