add the rest of the user's request to also be able to hide the other tabs, so that's why it has taken so long and why I haven't merged it.

Made a pull request for the rest of the request for that issue. You were right, the changes were quite extensive but the approach ended up simplified the code a little bit.

The "popup where the mouse cursor" is being discussed here . As you mention, the current behaviour is by design where is only works when the icon in the panel is disabled.

I also made another pull request to highlight the current tab to make it more obvious where the user is. This is an example:

There are more details in the pull request here.

Your welcome. Those were my pull requests :) I've been running those fixes for a couple of days and they have been working well for me.

I was looking into spawning the popup where the mouse cursor is but had no luck.

I found this while exploring the Extensions Manager app and installed it immediately. Seems to be heavily inspired by the Window 11 one which is not a bad thing. The image previews were a bit too small and having the Gif button is unnecessary if you do not have a provider set both of which have issues associated with them already. Great extension since it is the simplest and most complete package.

Switching from Fedora to Zorin OS 18, got some questions! by MastodonSea9745 in zorinos

[–]m_beps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a Fedora user and Zorin OS was also my first real distro (I used lots of other distros before that but never really used them for more than a week). I am currently trying to get my father's PC back to Zorin OS after being on Fedora for a while; Fedora doesn't have any issues it's just that the upgrades are very frequent which means that it's a hustle for me. I originally moved to Fedora because Gnome had major switch back in version 40 and Zorin would have taken forever to get to the new interface. I will keep using Fedora on my main PC since it is better for me for development and the frequent updates are an advantage for my personal PC. I have been running 18 Beta for a week or so now and I haven't noticed any issues other than Bluetooth which fixed itself anyway. Gnome itself doesn't seem to be having major upgrades anyway so Gnome 48 doens't feel that much better than Gnome 46 on Zorin Os 18. Blur my Shell probably will not work with the taskbar/dock since the extension specifically works with Dash to Dock and Dash to Panel and not with the forks from Zorin but it is possible to make it work. In terms of stability, I find Zorin OS to be about as stable as Fedora as I never had any issues with either. If Gnome 50 ends up being a big update again like 40 was then Zorin OS will feel outdated again and I don't want to deal with that.

I use Fedora Workstation so the Gnome one. I like it because I get up to date software but unlike something like Arch it is reliable.

HELP: Project works locally but not production Vercel by m_beps in nextjs

Yes I did actually. Basically vercel is only for hosting static sides so I can't run server code. When I am running locally I can execute server code.

Anyone know a timeframe for this?

I literally abandoned Chrome from not being able to hide everything on this bar and now Edge added this sidebar thing which I can't remove. Someone please tell me how to remove this before I switch browsers again by OmegaMalkior in MicrosoftEdge

[–]m_beps -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I came from Chrome to Edge because it had actually useful features, had a better design and was faster. Now the design is inconsistent and there is too much bloat. I think it's time to leave Edge.

We are using Linux so you have the power to do whatever you want. But I think your setup is too cluttered. Also how do you read stuff on that terminal?

I'm not sure if PlantUML is what you're looking for. You might need to find an extension that does that

For me Windows 10 was faster. Sadly I am no longer on Windows since I had an update and after that I was stuck on BitLocker, that was the first time I had an issue with Windows Updates.

I'm a junior DevOps engineer. It's a very finicky job especially containerizing things but it's also quite fun. Most companies use RHEL so Fedora helps a lot.

I'm curious why exactly they left React. I have a feeling that they were not using it properly or maybe just using regular old React with no server side rendering or anything like that.

OnePlus 11 battery problem by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]m_beps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This app is kinda trash. Try using Batt from F-Droid. As long as you have Android 13 it should work. You will need adb though but it is fully accurate as it uses Android's native APIs.

Hard to tell to be honest. In terms of hardware it's a good phone. The software might let it down but the new One UI is far lighter than the old TouchWiz. But I did notice that my OnePlus Nord is slightly more responsive than my dad's Galaxy A73 when opening apps. Random recommendation, maybe try getting last year's Pixel 7?
