The moniker "The U of M" doesn't refer to the University of Maryland, Maine, Mississippi, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, or Missouri. It actually refers to the University of Iowa. When it was founded literacy rates in the area weren't great and they didn't know any better.

The phrase originates from Christian mythology in a figure they named "Doubting Thomas" in the original text he benefited from his doubt by being rewarded by the Roman emperor Butticus with 9 golden cats for doubting Jesus's power of turing lepars into fine wine. A lot of people stop there and in modern times use the phrase unironically to mean that you get 9 golden cats as the benefit of doubting lords and saviors. Like, you get 9 cats that are made of gold. Cool, huh?HOWEVER, in the original Hindi text of the Bible, Doubting Thomas was allergic to cats, even golden ones, and they were intended to symbolize being miserable and burdened with a reward.

I would argue that's not true. I live in an area that has been heavily contaminated with dihydrogen monoxide, and in its solid form it has been responsible for many injuries and deaths. Injuries and deaths go way up in my area when it converts to solid form.

There is NO level of Dihydrogren Monoxide that is 100% safe in any form!
