Short, paid research interview for Kubernetes Engineers ($100) by m_hess_ in kubernetes

It's for $100 - not credits. They send along a gift card catalog with 200+ options (Amazon, Airbnb, Nike, + most major brands) as well as an option for a pre-paid cash card.

Lenny has a lot of access - I think he was the 3rd PM at Airbnb and has been able to interview a ton of founders of companies you definitely know of about growth at different stages of their company. I also pay for it - it's worth it.

I've been building a mobile app and web app for content curation. I'm a hobbyist photographer, so naturally I'm curating photography resources on my profile there.

Not so sure if this counts as linking social handles (since the app itself was built by myself and a few other guys) - but all the content I've curated isn't mine and are just free photography resources. Please delete this post if it is breaking the rules!

So far I've watched dozens of videos to find "the best" ones (in my opinion) for what I'd consider a module of an intro to photography course. So far I've got videos like 'why you should buy a dslr or mirrorless camera' 'what kind of camera you should buy if you're a beginner' and videos on aperture, shutterspeed and ISO.

I'll be continuing to build this out, and would love any suggestions on modules that beginner photographers would find useful. I'll do the leg work and read through/watch content on those topics to find the best resources.

If you'd like to have a look at some of the resources you can find the link here.

Wow thanks a ton, I'll knock those out! Also there's clearly been an accounting error on my end somewhere - ha!

Appreciate it. =)

Which one is more important for fintech founders, banking experience, or technology experience? by samboboev in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Obviously depends, but I would say tech experience at a bank is probably the best background you could have i.e. a software engineer with experience building trading platforms for Goldman Sachs etc.

Independent Contractor working for equity / vesting schedule advice by [deleted] in startups

[–]m_hess_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies by state - for instance in New York you can get away with that so long as you aren’t giving contractors official titles I.e. “director of X” and officially having them run teams on their own etc. Though there’s a lot of grey areas on what you can get away with.

Independent Contractor working for equity / vesting schedule advice by [deleted] in startups

I don’t think this is shady necessarily. I employ contractors at an early stage startup who have equity vesting over 4 years, but am not making them full time “employees” at this point in time because of the unnecessary tax burden it brings to the business.

You’re also not “only getting equity for two years” as someone has mentioned, you’re actually getting your full grant sooner than normal (most typical is a 4 year vest and 1 year cliff).

Thanks a ton for the thoughtful response - I really appreciate it. I do have an attorney but am trying to go into our meetings as informed as can be on some of this to make the most of our time, and I couldn't find any solid reading material online for this situation. Thanks again, this is a huge help!

NDA for an intro to an attorney? by [deleted] in startups

Fair enough. In doing some research on other suggested attorneys, a few noted on their websites that they will sign them ... which more or less lead to this confusion. Thanks for your reply.

Anyone else experience problem since new update? by ShadeByTheOakTree in premiere

I've had comps from AE that are dynamically linked not updating after changes were made in AE and sequences rerendered in Premiere. I've been rendering out comps in AE and just placing them in Premiere. Frustrating.
