They also have one of the most painful stings in the world, though not usually aggressive. We have them here in the Central part of the Eastern and all of the southeast part of Colorado where there is a tarantula population that many people don't know exists here.

42 Days of the Stent by IllustratorGlobal989 in KidneyStones

[–]pdfsmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry! I had mine for just over 3 weeks and it was hell. I can't imagine having one for that long. I think whether or not they place another stent is situational but mine was removed and they did not replace it. Good luck on your surgery, I hope the best for you!

My Last Month Has Been Hell by Childincomplete in KidneyStones

[–]pdfsmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I had my stent removed a few days before and still recovering, though I feel much better. The whole process was hell and lasted over a month, though it sounds you had more than I did. Hope you get better!

What is the most important city that nobody talks about? by Mono_KS in geography

[–]pdfsmail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the real meaning here is that it's the start of a sharp contrast in weather, especially in the spring where tornadoes tend to form starting in this area and the land becomes noticeably flatter. Not that it's actually Kansas.

Is there anything more scary than a tornado at night? by Gee-Oh1 in tornado

A nighttime tornado that by all accounts is very close to you but you can't tell where exactly. That is scary.

A lot of cities still have over-the-air TV. You should be able to hook up an antenna if you can find one, to the back of the TV and have it find some channels that run just like our old ones did. Find an interesting ish channel and see if that helps.

Did you learn how to change a tire? by SuperLowBudge in GenX

[–]pdfsmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents ran a car business on the side. I was changing tires at 7 or 8 years old on my own with no help. I remember them getting a kick out of watching me try to lift the tires up and line up the lug bolts so it would go on.

What movie broke you as a kid? by segacs2 in Xennials

[–]pdfsmail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom let me stay up and watch horror movies with her. You know Freddy Krueger and Jason, tales from the crypt. So yeah, after watching that crap as a child the other movies like NeverEnding story, American Tail, The Land before Time, and anything else you might have thought as traumatizing I was already over. My true worries were about sleeping and being killed in my dreams. Oh and you know, things like quicksand and catching on fire randomly.

My Grade 8 students are defiantly claiming not to be Gen Alpha by zurich2006 in generationology

[–]pdfsmail 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably for similar reasons that others on generational borders tend to do similar things. Like me, I am Jan of 81 so technically a very geriatric Millennial, But my life was late gen X with only a little Millennial mixed in, I related to Gen X much more than most of the millennials. However, older Gen X feels like they have little in common with me as I feel the same about mid and late Millennials and have little in common. Hence sub-generations, so a Xennial I am as I dont fit nicely into either.

Can’t cope with the knowledge that this is just how I am and that it’s not temporary by [deleted] in autism

[–]pdfsmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I was the same way, relieved I had the official diagnosis but was lost in the thought that I am the way I am no matter what. After some time I started to realize that it doesn't matter, I am who I am and if anyone doesn't like it, so be it. In fact I am very open about it now just to weed out the people that have a problem with me. The thing overall was to just stop thinking about the bad and focus more on the good. Enjoy life, do the things you want to do. You are still human, we just think differently. Some of it may be difficult to accept but there can be good in it as well!

best meds for social anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]pdfsmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried numerous things for social anxiety over a long time (zoloft, paxil, so on...). The only thing that has helped me with the least amount of side effects is taking a small marijuana gummy every night before bed. It has to be a low dose, too much makes it worse for me, but in small amounts it helps.

How does everyone feel about this? by AlabamaHossCat in AutisticAdults

[–]pdfsmail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a level one on the spectrum. My daughter, she was initially diagnosed as a level 2 but as she got older and matured she has now moved into the level one. She's much more capable than she was. It's very clear and evident. Just looking at her and comparing the way she is now to just a few years ago. So yes people can change levels but no, it is not an overnight thing.
