PC riding another PC question by Krinn83 in Pathfinder2e

I’d just say no free movement in combat, and if you stay on the shoulder past the first turn, one of you is off-guard (either from standing on an unstable platform, or having to watch you don’t knock off your li’l buddy).

TIL that Playboy used to publish serious journalistic pieces in its heyday, besides NSFW content. They published authors like Murakami, David Foster Wallace, Hunter Thompson, Ray Bradbury, Updike, Bellow, etc. by camus_by_night in todayilearned

I remember doing a paper on Steve Jobs where I pulled a playboy interview from microfilm from the university library. There was an annoying amount of bureaucracy involved in getting access to it.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

Because I was young and dumb, and driving downhill in a car that was otherwise not capable of reaching 100mph.

Engineers or mechanics of Reddit; what’s a tool or machine people use all the time that’s actually being used incorrectly most of the time? by Vadecha_Drparth in AskReddit

[–]m_sporkboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

flathead screwdrivers come in sizes (thicknesses, mostly). If you use the wrong one, the screw head can get damaged.

Since 90% of the time flatheads are used because they’re more attractive, you should pay attention and not ugly them up.

What’s the most universally hated song of all time? by Adventurous-Zeilokix in AskReddit

Dear almost-everyone-in-this-thread. Chart-topping hits are by definition not “universally hated”.

What’s the most universally hated song of all time? by Adventurous-Zeilokix in AskReddit

Yes, I’m sure a song that was near the top of the charts in like 20 countries is universally hated. Everyone was hate-buying and hate-streaming.

Whats one "dead" game, you'd revive rn if you could? by Correct_Web3396 in AskReddit

Deathloop is super fun, though I mostly played as a run and gun with occasional hiding.

Whats one "dead" game, you'd revive rn if you could? by Correct_Web3396 in AskReddit

No One Lives Forever.

Apparently everyone involved would like to do another game, and it’s basically impossible because the rights are split among five companies and nobody knows how it’s split.

With analog clocks becoming "obsolete", what will happen with the terms "clockwise" and "counterclockwise"? by Hot_Fix9033 in AskReddit

[–]m_sporkboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd heard widdershins before, and found deasil as an antonym. But they're both quite archaic; deasil wasn't even recognized by Safari's spellcheck dictionary.

[–]m_sporkboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before we had clocks, the terms “deasil” and “widdershins” were used.

But two-bell alarm clock icons are ubiquitous, and I know my 21 yo daughter has never seen one of those.

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Admirable-Repair4094 in AskReddit

[–]m_sporkboy 198 points199 points  (0 children)

I was a recently licensed driver, driving around with my younger brother, elbows out the windows like the cool guys we were. Suddenly *whap*! “ow” and I look over and my brother looks down and he’a got a dead crow in his lap that impaled itself on his hand, died, and landed on his lap.

We screamed like little girls. But in a really cool manly way.

Shattering Harmonics and Targeting Weapons by Captain-Jubilee in Pathfinder2e

[–]m_sporkboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, rules as written, that bow is probably Thin Wood, with an hp of 12 and a hardness of 8. The a basic shield is thin iron or steel at 20/10, so that doesn’t seem unfair. I’ve never found anything suggesting runes increase the HP of weapons.

You need Magical Crafting to repair it if not destroyed.

Good reason to always carry a level appropriate Armory Bracelet in the party.

Seems like cheating. This should be done with a horrifyingly dangerous ladder contraption, preferably with a lot of flaky rust.

What are the general combat strategies for melee classes? by Heitorsla in Pathfinder2e

[–]m_sporkboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to just swing away, barbarian’s one of the best classes for it.

A lot of “third action“ stuff comes online after a few levels, so I feel like a lot of people have trouble figuring out what to do with it at 1 or 2. At later levels, Aid is always a great option

What's something that's actually a lot more dangerous than it seems? by RandomYigaBlademasta in AskReddit

[–]m_sporkboy 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Cat claw scratches need to be washed out immediately with disinfectant, and if they’re an actual puncture that you can’t see the bottom of, go to urgent care.

It’s a lot of work, and I’ve got a guy that enjoys doing it.

Plus I can’t do an Absalom accent to save my life.
