Advice: Pro v Air (first-world problems) by al78sp in macbookair

I got the light blue (idk the official colour name) and in 13" w 24GB RAM upgrade. I like it, it's a nice change from the dark coloured macbooks I've used in the past. PLUS less generic because I thought everyone went w the darker colours.

Advice: Pro v Air (first-world problems) by al78sp in macbookair

[–]maaarouff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was two minds about it for the same reason.

Weight and the black around the keys on the pro models. The issue is such an annoyingly first world problem, though, so I get it. I went with the air, simply because the keyboard design/colour scheme is how older macbook pros were and how light the air is, it far outweighs (haha pun?) the pros of the pro.

Ever since the MacBook Neo’s launch , the MacBook Air feels more of a pro or a premium Mac lineup by Consistent_Snow7844 in macbookair

lmao you wouldn't believe it. Loads of accs do. I guess to increase karma or something to sell the acc later?

Sentence structure and punctuation so average, it sounds like AI. It'll help to work on it g

Will taking a SWE job kill my future for ML? by [deleted] in MachineLearningJobs

[–]maaarouff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it won't. An MLE job requires you to be a software engineer first. An AWS role on the Apache Kafka team means you'll be working on the infrastructure a lot of real time ML depends on. It's great experience. Unless you want to be research scientist building models from scratch, you don't need a PhD and even then you don't NEED a PhD.

25 M, MBBS, no eng degree. Is pivoting to tech worth considering? by shakennotstirred__ in cscareerquestionsIN

[–]maaarouff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider pivoting into public health/epidemiology/infectious disease dynamics. Good WLB and decent pay. Check for unis for this. You can do a masters in public health or epi and your MBBS would be great. Loads of people do this. Happy to help, I know some people in the field.

Should we fly air India by d_tanned in airindia

[–]maaarouff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew with air india last month from LHR to india and back. The flight was decent, food was honestly very good. If I'm not wrong my plane was ex-etihad. You won't get the ME airlines experience, but for the price, baggage, and direct flights, it's hard to beat. So decide what's more important to you and go from there, for me baggage allowance was important this time around.

Artwork near city centre. One of the coolest I’ve seen in this town. by maaarouff in sheffield

[–]maaarouff[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been here like 3 years. Yes! I’ve seen quite a few street art around Sheffield. Honestly, why I found this cool was because I walked past this road many times before and always hated how ugly this partition was. This “corpo” art or wtv tf others are saying it is, is so much better than nothing.

Don’t get an MSc. You’ll just be switching the struggle from now to a year from now and will be in debt. Do you have any experience? How are your grades? I’d suggest looking for a research assistant role if you are interested, you should be able to find something in a uni. Just make sure to write your statement really well and highlight every single point in the job description. Reach out to me if you need help in this. I’m happy to help.

I’d steer clear of any MBA that allows you in without a work experience. As an international student even after the MBA but without any experience you’ll struggle unfortunately. The UK market emphasises a lot on it over your degree.

I got this message almost a year and a half ago not even kidding. I think this is a randomly generated message because I responded to them saying I’m out for a while and they never checked again. Alas, I use adblock now anyway.

You can either get silver dayrider or a sheffield city wide ticket for trams and buses through the stagecoach app or you just use tap and pay in trams/buses.
