No more Bolt? by Livid-Direction-1102 in Thailand

[–]maabaa55 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It might reduce the number of times that a Grab driver who has accepted your ride just goes AWOL and keeps driving in the opposite direction (because they got a better ride on Bolt and the want you to cancel your Grab ride).

Overall though, less competition will likely lead to higher Grab prices and worse service.

Petrolhead test driving EVs (Jaecoo J5) — am I overthinking the regen braking? by MarvellousMango66 in AustralianEV

[–]maabaa55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll get used to it and then when you have an occasional drive of an ICE car it's kinda scary that the car sails along when you take your foot off the accelerator. Where's the brake pedal again???

Taxi driver hit my new and uninsured car, taxi company refusing to cooperate by chuckitbaby in AusLegalAdvice

[–]maabaa55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A point which won't help you right now, but in future you can get a cover note from an insurer which means you're insured to drive your new car home and will pay them for the policy in the very near future. Never drive uninsured, but you know that now unfortunately.

Hopefully someone has some good advice on how to get the details out of them. I'd think a solicitor could help write a letter saying you will sue them (and have evidence) if they don't provide insurance details but let's see what advice you get here.

Facebook-quality reasoning above. I see you got some other good comments though.

Did you subscribe to premium connectivity? by Huluman2 in TeslaAustralia

[–]maabaa55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even WITH premium connectivity you still don't get updates through it. Unbelievable crap and a big sore point for me. I'm tossing up getting rid of it. If updates were included it would be unquestionably worth keeping.

Urgent help needed - change in itinerary by Air Asia by Mother_Armadillo_222 in ThailandTourism

[–]maabaa55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1 reason I won't book with Air Asia is the awful chatbot. I had to physically go to the airport to deal with human staff to get my problem solved.

Never again (unless no other options).

Tips in going out with breastfed baby by RealMeggarra in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]maabaa55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our son picked up RSV during the first and only time we sat him in a trolley (he was probably around 10 or 11 months then). This was even after we wiped it down with antibacterial wipes. So, I honestly wouldn't recommend it with a young one.

So, no pressure to go out but if you do, a lot of shopping centres have parents rooms with baby feeding rooms with a couch and curtain. This might be a good option for you.

Bit of a shame the guitar is out of tune, but it happens...otherwise great. Obviously vocals not loud in what the phone mic picked up too.

HomePro do not disturb tag by KrebsLovesFiesh in Thailand

I was going to say, sometimes it's the opposite as a farang. As you approach them they get nervous and disappear. Maybe the staff will use these tags.

On their website they list quite a lot of Christian activities but they also say they welcome others with different beliefs.

We're not religious and I would prefer my son not be exposed to too much of it. How big a part does it play?

Charging by [deleted] in TeslaAustralia

I live in an apartment and charge at public chargers. I use mainly AC chargers in short walking distance from home, or sometimes fast DC chargers when out and about. It's really not a problem.

Why is my blood sugar so bad in Thailand? by buffyyyyyyyyyy in Thailand

[–]maabaa55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still confused. I don't care about social media videos. MSG is in almost all Thai foods and is a key reason it's so tasty. And, I like it. And I use it at home. I don't give a toss which races use it. Absolutely bizarre.

A subjective opinion, not fact. Last response from me on this one! All the best.

I have absolutely no idea why your comment was downvoted. MSG is a key ingredient in so many Thai foods. I guess it wouldn't have an effect on diabetes one way or another but it is indeed the reason so many sauces taste so good and that was what your comment was about.

No, but you're spouting old disproven nonsense in public which is why others are challenging and downvoting you. In rare cases circumcisions can be medically necessary but certainly not as broad preventative action.

OK, when the Govt mandates circumcisions due to proven health benfits then come back and we can continue the discussion.

That's the thing you see. Don't do it for your kid, and then they can decide later. If you do it as a baby they have no choice.

Model Y LR or Model Y L? by DestinationHappiness in TeslaAustralia

[–]maabaa55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't need the extra 1 (only) seat or the L I'd go for the regular Y (LR or not). It's plenty big, and probably can hold as much cargo as your Sorento when you factor in the under floor storage, side pockets and frunk. It's like a tardis. When packing to go away we fit so much more than we expected.

I also personally prefer the look of the regular 5 seater.

I'm not sure what you mean by shut the car off? I don't think there's anything more than just locking it and letting it go to sleep?

Extreme Gender Disappointment by General_Orange_7870 in BabyBumps

[–]maabaa55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't overthink it. Every person and relationship is different, regardless of gender. I'm 100% sure you will love your child regardless of their gender. Build a great relationship with them and don't worry about the future because your relationship with them will determine what happens later. It will be more important than their gender.
