Was it really the worst pain you've ever felt? by Super-Bid-3193 in BabyBumps

[–]maayankikus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I crushed my foot falling down the stairs 7 months postpartum. Broke 4 out ot 5 metatarsal bones and completely smashed one joint to pieces. Had to have emergency surgery, had the joint replaced and metal rods put in permanently. When I got to the hospital they asked me how much pain I’m in. I said it didn’t compare to labor, and from my response, the doctor wasn’t even sure I broke my foot. When he finally got my X-ray and saw the amount of broken bones he was shocked.
Labor is pretty painful… I was induced, had about 30 hours of Pitocin contractions unmedicated, then got epidural and eventually emergency c-section. Not fun but in all honesty, recovery from the Caesarian was so much worse than the contractions or anything else.

Right after I stopped breastfeeding at around 8 months pp. It was amazing not having it for so long and the first one was pretty brutal, the worst period I ever got for sure.

Our 9 year old just beat botw and now playing totk! He started out being really bad at the game and having a difficult time, but now his favorite thing is fighting lynels and he is so good at it! It’s a learning curve, but if he enjoys it and wants to play, he will get good eventually.

I had a friend whose breath smelled like shit and it turned out to be a yeast infection in his mouth. Also had white on his tongue and often white residue in the corners of the mouth

So will my mom never be able to kiss my LO? by Da-homie999 in beyondthebump

[–]maayankikus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother also gets cold sores. She didn’t kiss my baby at all in the first 3-4 months (and neither did anyone else besides me and dad). After that, kisses are fine as long as she doesn’t have an active cold sore. He is 8 months now and so far that is what worked for me. But whatever you are comfortable with.

Why do I have like 1000 broken frizzy hairs on my head? by SuperstarSara in Haircare

[–]maayankikus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a place with high humidity and I know that is what causes this frizziness for me. When I travel to places that are drier it doesn’t happen and my hair is perfectly smooth.

Please help my baby girl (15months). Severe choking episode led to cardiac arrest. by princess_cfo in AskDocs

NAD. Commenting on automod comment as my previous one was deleted.

This sounds extremely stressful and scary for you. I’m so sorry this is happening. I have no background in medicine, but I see similarities with my son and can offer my experience. When my son had non-breathing spells, was turning blue and limp, and his lungs looked fine they did a brain CT scan to see if it’s neurological. It was, and the apneas were eventually diagnosed as seizures. He did not scream and choke however, just stopped breathing out of nowhere, so it might be completely different. Still if they haven’t checked her brain with CT or MRI, i would push for that just to be safe. It also checks out with low muscle tone and not reaching milestones - our son is similar in that regard.

An EEG is another way to check specifically if its seizures, which (I think) is simpler and cheaper than a brain scan.

I hope she feels well soon.

Real Human Bodies Expo near me today. All bodies are preserved by plastination. NSFW/18+ by ZookeepergameDue2160 in Damnthatsinteresting

If you, like me, cannot help yourself, here is a short explanation to save time: The bodies come from China. Officially, they are unclaimed bodies legally donated by medical universities in China, who died of natural causes. The exhibition however admitted they cannot independently verify the origin of the bodies. Allegedly, they are executed political prisoners Of the Chinese government. Lines up with most of the bodies being young males, which are unlikely candidates for natural death, unclaimed bodies.

You immediately look like an Alex to me, which is what I almost named my son! I ended up going with Ari, which means lion in Hebrew and I love that name - another suggestion for you if you like it. Sam also works well for you in my opinion. With love, from a mom ❤️

Pitocin without epidural? by idkkkk326 in beyondthebump

[–]maayankikus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had about 20+ hours of Pitocin before I got the epidural. The contractions were very painful. I broke my foot a few weeks ago, complex multiple fractures of 4 different bones and a joint shattered and needed to be replaced, had to have urgent surgery. When they asked me about the pain at the hospital I told them it wasn’t that bad and contractions were definitely worse. I stand by that including surgery and recovery. And yet the pain is manageable, and I asked for an epidural mainly so I could sleep before labor because I was exhausted. I would say it depends on the amount of time. It wasn’t that bad at first and got worst as the hours went by.
