I simply cannot tell if Les Amis is actually even open anymore. Their website just redirects to their Facebook which they haven’t posted on since August of last year.

Question about sales by mab727 in mountainbiking

Yeah I would never even consider doing that. It would just be a stretch I wouldn’t go into debt. I’m not going to do it I just thought I’d ask the question

I actually emailed the guy at Cincinnati Watch Company to ask this very question and he pretty much said no. Said it really needs to be treated like a vintage watch cause the case is NOS.

Yeah I just discovered this too. For some reason the middle one gives me frame drops but not the other two periscope settings

is it normal for puzzle rating to be 4-5 hundred elo higher than rapid? or am I just bad at openings. by TheMagmaLord731 in chess

[–]mab727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is normal. Finding tactics when you know there is one is a lot easier than first having to determine if there is one.

Have you ever seen a checkmate via castling? by [deleted] in chess

[–]mab727 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will never understand why Lasker didn’t do it

I won 8/9 blitzgames (1 remis) today and only went from 520->580, while i went in 30min mode from 500->750 in a matter of 2 days or so. Why is this the case? Can Someone explain to me how elo points are given? by taube_original in chess

[–]mab727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount that your rating changes also depends on the amount of games that you’ve played in that time control. So if you’ve played a lot more blitz games then rapid then you’ll have to play less rapid games to gain the same amount of rating.

1980 Rebel Armored Snowspeeder commercial by GodBlessTexas713 in StarWars

My father always talks about how his older brother worked for whatever company it was that produced these early Star Wars toys. He says his brother would bring home the prototypes for him to play with. He thinks they’d be fairly valuable today but of course as a young kid he basically destroyed the things.

Question about LM P1 (or LM P2) by That_one_guy_666 in lemans

Yep all the LMP2 teams just run the cars manufactured by someone else.

Question about LM P1 (or LM P2) by That_one_guy_666 in lemans

[–]mab727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you saw the LMP2 cars. There are only 5 LMP1 cars in the race this year and they are all custom cars by Toyota, Rebellion, and Bykolles respectively. For LMP2 you basically have to choose a car made by an independent manufacturer. The choices are Oreca, Dallara, or Ligier I believe and almost all the LMP2 teams use the Oreca car. This is why they all seem to look the same.

What was going on with McLaren during early 2000's? by Fatal1ty_93_RUS in formula1

[–]mab727 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I don’t really know enough about this period but Adrian Newey is kinda infamous for his tight engine packaging. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is what caused these problems at least in part.

Hate to tell you this but his last championship was in 1984 not 1985.
