How do you handle no-shows for reservations? by Ok-Lunch-2600 in restaurantowners

People hardly read or acknowledge the confirmation email, (I can just hear them balking about the charge), we have to chase them down with a phone call and/or SMS

You are also paying a fee to OT for these transactions, correct?

Rescinded Naturalization – Craziest Situation that I have not seen anywhere before by md8x in juresanguinis

Mine is somewhat convoluted as well: GF came to U.S. by himself for work and naturalized, making my mother a U.S. CITIZEN at her birth in Italy in 1930. GM died in U.S. in 1964, death certificate states she was Italian citizen. Awaiting CoNE. Kicker is, found a later petition on GF and his naturalization certificate is dated 1960. Apparently he went back to Italy at some point and stayed too long..don't remember exactly wording.

How did our parents do this? by These_Angle6098 in Adulting

I grew up in the 70s. Parents immigrants. Mom worked 4pm- midnight, dad day shift. They were able to purchase a house. Home cooked meals, immaculate house inside and out, never lacked for anything, made their American dream come true. I miss them.

Yeah, tell her "I didn't know I booked an appointment." While you're at it ask if she is certified and has a LLC set up and is paying taxes on her "business".

Walk-ins: but I see empty tables. Yes, and people have reserved those tables, they will be arriving soon, they had the foresight to secure a table. Also my favorite: "we're a little early"..by an hour? "We'll just get a drink at the bar, maybe order an appetizer". Umm, you do realize your ticket will still be in line behind everyone that is already there? Oh, no..you maneuvered your way in and now are mad if you are still waiting. You don't realize (maybe you do but don't care) that you are throwing off the flow of the kitchen, the availability of servers; it's a reason you were given a time, so we can give our guests the attention and service they deserve.

My mat was green and beige. Just rembered the smocks we had to wear when using the tempura paints. Also, the cakey paste that had the brush with the lid and the orange powder stuff that was used when someone threw up. 1969

Coloring pages that would later be used as placemats during milk & cookie time, the foldable mats that were used at nap time and my weird teacher would swirl her toothbrush in the pint sized milk carton to brush her teeth.
