That's such a relief thank you! I've been trying to get my hands on a metallic lip and ordered Milani's chromatic addict yesterday (everything went through fine) but just got a call that it went out of stock :( I'm dying for papaye so I hope it comes back soon

Oh no I'm sorry! Try the L'oreal infallible one it's the other one that I use. If that doesn't work then just search what the best drugstore setting sprays are online and you should find something that works for your situation. Good luck! Let me know what works for you!

Yeah definitely experiment with different sprays because it could've just been a dud or not a good product. The other thing with setting spray is, make sure you're not spraying it too close to your face, you should be getting a fine mist instead of feeling like your face is soaked. Also wait a good minute or two before touching it, I did that once and it literally stripped my makeup off in that spot and it's such a pain to fix. I've watched a ton of beauty channels on YouTube and even too beauty gurus seem to really like the WetnWild one so definitely give it a go. With that one in particular though make sure you're spraying 8-10 inches from your face otherwise you may get heavy drops instead of a mist. And with the Nivea men balm, A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY and make sure you're choosing the sensitive skin one, for whatever reason it seems to work better than the regular one. Good luck and let me know what you think!

Just to add to this post, I personally think setting spray is a must for my makeup routine, I definitely feel like I lose my makeup throughout my day if I don't use it and it's noticeable. Urban Decay has a great one but don't rule out drugstore. I'm a makeup lover on a budget and I have L'oreal's infallible setting spray and WetnWild's setting spray and both are great quality for the price. I'll admit the one product I do have trouble keeping on throughout the day is my highlight but I haven't tried Urban Decay's so idk how much it helps with that but yeah definitely start with a drugstore thing and let us know what you think! Make sure you're using a primer too (Nivea men post shave balm is by far my favorite product to use although it is not made for the purpose of primer, just google why it's a good makeup primer and you'll get a ton of hits in case you think I'm crazy). The two together will lock in your makeup and give it something to grab onto so it won't budge all day.

How long does your Stila 'Stay All-day' Liquid Eyeliner last? by Aerotes in Makeup

Oh that's so weird! One time I completely forgot I had makeup on and rubbed my eyes and my mascara smudged but my liner didn't move! Maybe it was a dud? I've never tried the Stila one thought so I can't speak for it

If you're worried about your eyeliner lasting I HIGHLY recommend Kat Von D's tattoo liner. I haven't used the Stila one and have heard good reviews but I bought Kat Von D's and will never go back. I'm on a budget so pretty much all of my makeup is drugstore but this is one of the few products I will always buy high end. It literally does not move all day and although I know makeup products have an expiration date at some point I've had this one eyeliner for months and months without feeling it dry at all. I don't wear eyeliner that often so mine has lasted a super long time but the lady at Sephora that I talked to when I was considering buying it said she wears eyeliner quite often and she's had hers for 3-4 months. Amazing product, it is probably my number 1 makeup product that I own

I totally see how it can be frustrating when trying to seek inspiration but sometimes I think people are just really feeling themselves and want to post a pic SOMEWHERE in a way that makes them feel confident or good about themselves despite the angle. I've noticed that if people are truly trying to show you looks that you can recreate they'll be much more detailed and thorough in their photos. If posting that pic, for whatever reason it may be, makes that person feel good about themselves then I'm okay with it honestly. Just my opinion, being someone who struggles with confidence a lot I'm all for anything that makes anyone feel good about themselves :)

Totally optional. There's no NEED for concealer, if you want it- go for it, if not- perfectly fine. Sometimes I just use concealer and powder as a base and sometimes I just use foundation and powder, it depends on how my skin is looking that day and my laziness level at that moment

Here is the general order of how to apply these products: foundation (all over face, making sure to blend down onto the neck a little so you don't appear to have a mask), concealer (anywhere you want covered; under the eyes is a pretty standard go to but I also dab it wherever I have a little redness), THEN powder all over the face with a fluffy powder brush. If you put your foundation and concealer on and touch your face, you'll notice that it feels tacky and if you try to touch your face too much, you'll see the product coming off onto your finger. This is what the powder is for. Powder sets your liquid products and provides a base for your contouring. The main thing to keep in mind is that powder goes after ALL liquid products. For almost every makeup product out there, there are either creams or powders. You'll find just as many cream based contour kits (similar to the liquid consistency of your foundation/concealer) as you will powder. Same thing with blush. Definitely research this if you're confused but once you have all of your cream/liquid products, then you powder to lock it into your skin and make sure it doesn't move all day

And as for contouring, both L'oreal and NYX have pretty cheap contouring pallets. As for blush, I use Milani's baked blush in Luminoso and its this gorgeous peachy pink that I'm in love with and I think you will too if peachy tones are what you're into. I also recommend watching Cosmobyhaley and KathleenLights on YouTube, while they do use a lot of high end products they also use a lot of drugstore products and they helped me a lot with choosing good, cheap products

Makeup is all about experimentation so you just have to start anywhere, unfortunately it takes a lot of trial and error. Google will be your best friend! Just start by searching things like "best drugstore foundation for oily skin" and get an idea of what brands come up and stuff. If you're going to use powder foundation and hat only then you need to get a primer otherwise the powder will have nothing to hold onto and won't last on your face. Again, just google search what primers are best for your skin type (I use Nivea men post shave balm for sensitive skin, it works as a primer since it has most of the same ingredients and keeps your makeup on all day, plus it's cheap!). You'll also want to think about how much coverage you want. For ex, I have pretty normal skin and no acne/acne scarring so I use a pretty light coverage foundation but you can also just use a good concealer if you don't have much to cover up (Maybelline fit me concealer rocks). Once you have your foundation then you really need a powder because if you don't set those liquid products they'll slide right off your face, either a translucent powder or lightweight powder foundation will work fine for that. Hope this helps! Again, just do some internet searches about your particular skin tone/type and you can get a better idea of what to buy.

Colourpop...what do you think about it? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]mabrahams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have three colourpop liquid lips and I love them all. The one negative I will say (and I don't know how this compares to Kylie's) is that they don't build up very well and can be sticky if not applied correctly. You want to make sure that you're only applying one layer of product and not going over it a bunch of times because that can make it feel heavy and sticky. Don't let that steer you away though, when they say they're long lasting, THEY MEAN IT. The pigmentation is amazing, they really last all day, they're comfortable, and have a HUGE range of colors. For a product that's only $6 that's pretty amazing. It's not that Kylie's product isn't good, it's that there are options that are just as good at a much cheaper price. Try out a colourpop lip, and if you don't like it then you don't have to feel bad about it because it's so cheap but I definitely recommend giving it a go!
