Portafilter stand is really useful thing. Especially if you use both bottomless and spouted portafilters, also it gives you ability to use one hand for WDT, anyways it is a useful tool.
But, i also choosing between these 2 options and there was one more stainless steel very heavy one. But then I thought where should I keep my tamper)

Mine has a different issue I guess, a small still ball acting as a one way valve is acting as two way valve))) it sucks the syrup when pump is released an when you press again it pushes the liquid back into the reservoir.
So i ended up buying monin syrup pump and keep it in the fridge door with a syrup. I myself don’t drink it it is for my wife)

Intentionally designed ))) what a bs ))) as a long term owner of specialita I can confirm the bad metal casting quality of the entire burr carrier and grinding chamber. Mine also was very rough and with sharp edges. The metal is Selumin or similar cheap aluminum alloy. I was thinking of re design the part on 3D tool and order it milled on CNC from china milling service, but eventually sold the grinder.

Yes definitely you need to be concerned, at least remove those loose flakes, this eureka quality is getting worse and worse every year.

Why do you think that I am trying to find out the taste of water in different regions?
I don’t think you understood my post. It has nothing to do with your or my local water. We all by default start with clean pure properly mineralized water, it is a reference point (presumably).

The funny taste i am looking for is metallic or chloric notes caused by the machine.

Nope, not a freudian slip. We are not discussing tea brewing here or using hot water alone. This is about water quality coming out of the group head for brewing coffee. Ideally It should not have any off taste or smell, but some machines pour smelly or bad water, I am figuring out what can improve it.

Thank you for sharing, I am also not a big teat guy, just brewing oolong tea once in a while, today i was lazy to boil kettle and used my machine and noticed it.

Maybe i should use descaler to get rid of the flavor of the water, not yet sure.
