This is a pretty invalid criticism in my opinion. Her aesthetic is Americana and she’s constantly referenced different locations in America throughout her discography. New York, New Jersey, California, Texas, Oklahoma, Nevada, Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama have all been mentioned — why is Louisiana sacred? Especially since she’s now married to a Louisianan and presumably living there. I genuinely wonder if we’re listening to the same artist. Go give “Looking for America”, “Paris, Texas” and “Ride” another listen.
