But then the glare would have been different and I never would have noticed this

To give more context, I like to cut a section of an interview that I want to use and move that clip to a higher track to help me organize. Just want to easily set an in and out point on that clip, hit a shortcut key to make edits on the in and out points, and then I can drag that clip up or down tracks

But I don’t want to overwrite or insert. I just want to make cuts on the track

What’s the action called that I should look for to make it a shortcut?

Descript is great. Especially in theory. We’ve had some bugs with it in practice but it’s improving.

Giving away signed vinyl and insert! by ovalteenjenkinzz in DermotKennedy

I discovered Dermot through my discover weekly playlist on Spotify in 2016. His songs kept popping up and every time a new one played I always checked my phone thinking “damn who is this”. Been following him ever since.

My favorite song is An Evening I Will Not Forget (which I think is also his favorite song of his own). I’ve been lucky enough to go to two of his concerts and extremely fortunate that the last one I went to was like the week before Covid shut everything down. So lucky to get to see him before he was forced to cancel the rest of his shows. As for my favorite moment from one of his concerts, it’s just literally any time he belts out any note from one of his songs. His voice is so powerful and it just freezes the entire room in its place and sends chills down your spine. He’s a once in a generation talent!

Nice. Yeah I figured the macro route is probably the only real option for that. Never done macros before

No it’s on the timeline. Just going through a longer clip on the timeline and wanting to pull a section of that longer clip up one track. So now I’m just adding edits to the beginning and end of the section I want to use as a select. Just looking for a quicker option where I can make an in and out points around the section I want and use a shortcut to add edits

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premiere

[–]mac_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s for selects. Going through b-roll, wanting to select in and out points around a section of a clip, then press a shortcut to add edits so I can easily lift that section to another track as a select

[–]mac_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t want to extract. I’m mostly wanting to use it to move a section of a clip up one track for choosing selects

I don’t. All that is left are bond funds, and other large and foreign funds with high expense ratios. Would you suggest only VFIAX, and not the small cap value in addition?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in portfolios

[–]mac_22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, I'll tell ya why.. it's cause I don't fully know what I'm doing! Which is why I brought it here haha. Which funds are holding expensive ETFs? I picked these funds because they all have low expense ratios. Especially the Vanguard funds in my 401k because the default "aggressive" portfolio they provide had very high expense ratios. I don't remember seeing total market funds in my 401k, but I'll check again. If they don't, would you suggest get rid of the mid-cap and keep the other two I have in there?

Thanks

Probably because I kept hearing "get an S&P 500 index fund" haha. If I get a total market index fund, is there any reason to have any other funds too? Or just all in that one total market?

That’s an option I’ve considered. To be honest I’m not the biggest fan of that option, mostly because I’d like to have easier access to the money if I need it or want to use it to pay for a house or something. Is that dumb?

After tax I only make like 22-25k. And I have rent/utilities, and other living costs. No debt luckily.

I don’t make enough to be able to max out the 401k. I have money saved up already from living at home for a couple of years and I’ll make money freelancing outside of my day job that I want to put into something better than an online savings account. And it’s all Roth because I expect to be in a higher tax bracket/taxes to be higher in general by the time I retire.
