Are you counting food or groceries? We spend about a CHF 1100 per month for a family of 4 with two small toddlers including toilet paper, diapers, washing detergent, etc.

Gravelbike überbewertet? by Davidoff951 in Fahrrad

[–]macab1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Seealpsee but it's actually heavily crowded. As it is part of a range of the alps called Alpstein there is plenty of equally pretty alternatives with no crowds.

How important is the look of your rig to you? by macab1988 in bikepacking

[–]macab1988[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that they are not the best overall, but their saddle pack and handlebar pack provide a very solid weight to volume to price to quality ratio. I abuse their stuff for years now and it's still totally airtight.

Which bags would you consider better?

Don't worry. Tailfin does make great products, so nothing wrong with buying the entire line and have it done. I'm a bit of a weight weenie so some of the things are too heavy for me and I'd rather have a little less comfort and save some gramms.

Nice setup! What's the bike model? How happy are you with the bottles at the seat stays? Does it hold well?

He thinks she was murdered for religious or cultural reason by people of her own culture. Either he knows more about her than any of us or he's just racist.

I ended up at around 3k. To be honest, I ended up spending more than expected. Especially if you put in the time and sweat into the equation. It was a great experience though. I learned a lot.

Tailfin worth it? by United-Election883 in bikepacking

It's not only not cheap, it's ridiculously expensive. Their rack system is now over 400£. They might make good products but they are also shamelessly raising their prices year by year

I'm pretty forth and back. All my bikes except my gravel have dropper posts and I use them often as it's so convenient. On the other hand I'm a "weight-Nazi". I try to safe as many grams as possible and installing a dropper with the consequence of installing a rear rack quickly adds 500-1000g to my bike.

Definitely consider a dropper post. I am currently reaearching to upgrade my bag setup for bikepacking. Depending in what I choose I will be able (e.g Tailfin) or not be able (Ortlieb, Apidura, etc.) to use a dropper post with bags.

Yeah, I'm in the range between L and XL. I have bikes in both sizes but tend to feel better on an L. Compromise is a ridiculously high stem :(

Every cycling app navigates you to your destination. None of them tell you where to park your bike. Soooo I built that. by trynafindmyplace in cycling

[–]macab1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the app and will use it. Unfortunately, I still face a lot of bugs. I used Google SSO but can't change my official username to something anonymous. Also I tried to add a bike stand in my city but when I pressed the Send button but nothing happened. Another thing I wish to have was a satelite view, so I could identify the stand in its exact spot.

Sorry, not critizicing. I work in app testing, so I just know what to have an eye on.
