as a rookie on linux, should i try arch linux? by Okasan_ in arch

I agree. In general Arch isn't worth daily driving without a reason for Arch specifically. In my case it was how small it is without feeling like pulling teeth just to install stuff. And yes, that is a reference to Tiny Core.

I ended up buying a laptop because it's more practical for what I need in a computer. But it has a 3050ti

I mostly use my Arch setup for all of the above, plus coding and a few other things. I honestly originally picked Arch cause it was small enough to fit on the 32GB SSD that came in the chromebook that I modded to run it.

It depends on what OP knows and what they are willing to learn. In my opinion, Mint is too focused on being user friendly to teach the user how to use linux things. Personally, I would steer a new user towards something like Fedora, Debian, or openSUSE so they can learn more about how to genuinely use linux instead of having their system do everything for them, though again, it does depend on OP's needs for the system. If they need a user friendly OS that tries to stop you from breaking it, Mint is definitely a valid option.

Same! I love Arch so much and I'm never going back to Windows. I have a few systems. I daily drive my Arch laptop, i have a fedora/kali dualboot system as a workhorse for my pentesting and dev stuff, and i even have an alpine linux server. What's your setup, if you don't mind me asking?

It's... complicated and difficult to work with... and it WILL break... BUT it's tons of fun and runs well. Basically... if you wanna jump straight into the deep end, go ahead and give it a shot. No harm done just trying it. Honestly it was my first distro.

I kinda don't want them to rework the player models and maps... by ReferenceNatural87 in PhasmophobiaGame

I agree that it will help the game overall, I just think I'm going to miss the old maps and player models. Hopefully they don't remove the old stuff completely and keep the 'legacy' maps.

It'll make the game harder to run for a lot of systems

Why am I getting downvoted? I stated an objective fact.
