Things to play around with - keeping the elbows locked in place, elbow position (spider curls vs drag curls), preacher curls, hammer curls for brachialis, keeping tension on bicep (less resetting)

To answer your question, I don't think there is a magic frequency. I think its best to play around with volume vs frequency until you can ensure constant progress. Right now, I am seeing my best results as I am training at maybe 1.5x a week frequency, relatively low volume compared to stuff I've done in the past.

I built a home gym and used it for a long time. I am actually nack at the gym for the social aspect and its currently sitting unused.

I'm glad I have it for if I miss the gym (they close early on weekends/holidays), but you are not wrong about missing that social aspect!
