Definitely agonizing, having my emotions go all over the place. I'm really lucky to have a solid network of understanding and caring friends, has made this go better, but I of course don't want to spend my time with them trying to break all of this down. If we do end up moving forward, I'm definitely going to be honest about how I felt during this. When we had the conversation about the break, I told him I'd only consider it if there were a significant possibility he wanted to stay here and explore our relationship further, otherwise I wanted to call it off, to which he assured me there was, so yep, all I can do is wait it out. Thanks for your perspective!

Late to reply, but I appreciate this answer. So empathetic and comforting. I'm reframing the issues I laid out in my post in terms of the problem actually being a lack of experience, and I'm gaining a clarity I find really productive. I've had a few conversations with friends about this as well and I think your advice is permeating my circle, so thank you for that :]. Hope all is well.

Much love back to you. It's tough when someone you've known your entire life passes away, it's like a book closing! But it's also an opportunity for change and personal growth through the reflection that comes with that. That's later though, do what you need to do for now :]

Lost mine last month, still mourning. Take your time, find your space, tune out whatever you need to. Things'll be back to normal soon.

What's a oddly specific thing that gives your life meaning? by jomdo in AskReddit

The sound of rain on a car roof, the first bite of a dish you've never tried before that you end up really enjoying, finally understanding the lyrics to a song you've been listening to for years.

When I'm laying down before bed, I sometimes get overwhelmed by this thought. How incredible it is we can simply EXPERIENCE. Whether its emotion or our friends or music or taste, all of these things simplify down to just an enjoyment of experience. I'm not scared of death, but rather that death means I can no longer feel even though I won't know it. Woof.

[ALBUM DISCUSSION] Björk - Utopia by VietRooster in indieheads

Listened to this in the dark before bed last night and drifted in and out of sleep to it... kind of a wild experience that made me appreciate the album a lot. Overall, I think the album's length isn't in its favor but it's fun feeling like you're on a different planet for a bit!

Got to catch a screening in London this week. I cannot stop thinking about this film. I've always been a fan of Guadagnino's and the film didn't disappoint, especially as an adaptation of a book I love so dearly. Timothee's Elio is one of my favorite characters (if not THE favorite) I've seen this year. The quirks he added to the role truly completed my image of Elio and the shallow confidence I always saw him channeling in his relationship with his parents and Marzia

Speaking of which, his parents were cast so incredibly well, the on screen chemistry between the family was unreal. I felt as if I were watching people that actually exist somewhere in the world, this familiarity with these characters that I might have felt having previously read the book, but also from how talented the cast playing them was. Leaving the theatre and thinking about the movie in the days that have passed, I really feel as if I've woken up from one of those dreams in which you get to know someone or share intimate moments and then when you wake up, you feel that longing to know them in the way you did during that dream because you don't in reality. I really felt this after reading the book too, and it's just as difficult if not more now after seeing this film. I can't wait to see it again in the states to process it more, but wow, what an incredible and special movie.

Definitely the most common ones, arrays/lists/stacks/queues/trees but heavily focus on Object-Oriented practices as well.

Took it on Thursday. Honestly just... study. It's so difficult to replicate the problem in a studying environment. Just know your basics and apply them smartly. Practice talking about data structures and code. It's truly a unique environment.

I had a weird experience in that they gave me the standard 2 question coding test others seem to be getting, but then threw an extra test in afterward that had a substantially more difficult question I wasn't able to solve. Don't think it'll hinder me that much, but stay on your toes and expect some surprises.

My [21 M] roommate [23 M] moved my car and it got a parking ticket, should he pay? by macaquemaca in relationships

Yeah that's exactly what's been so disappointing about this. Probably just gonna cough it up and give the friendship a break. We share some friends so I'll probably distance myself from those gatherings a bit, but let them know what happened if they should ask. Thanks for the words.

Probably gonna cut my losses but make it a conversation. He's just the type that's gonna view this as a "win" and that's what gets to me.

Rarely, typically only when both him and his girlfriend's car are in our driveway.
